I don't believe so.  Reason being that your old account holds the code that you registered with your original copy.  Honestly though it's not worth it for the menial head start that you'll get.  Phase 4 of the beta is coming up soon, and it's an open beta where the data carries over....so if i were you i wouldn't even worry about it.  Add the ffxiv arr page on FB or Twitter or whatever you have, they make announcements about beta test times and so forth on there.  Hope this helps, good luck!

What the guy above said.  Only get head start on old accounts if you were legacy.  Otherwise you get access on the 27th like everyone else.

Yes, you can do this. I ordered a PS# version from Amazon, got a preorder code in my email about 2 min later, then canceled the order.

I have a 1.0 account like you, the pre order code and your account info are completely independent of one another.

I think you can. If someone is preordering a second copy of the game why would SE want to deny them head start simply because they were an original player as well? I pre-ordered a PS3 copy just so I can play it on both even though I already have it for PC and I do hope they let me use my head start.

Why are people posting when they don't know the answer?

Yes you can do this. Many people have. I find it silly that SE didn't just give ALL old accounts the code automatically since they essentially preordered two years ago...
