I can't see why it would disappoint me to the extent of not playing for a while but I'd keep enjoying other SoE titles like I do now.

I will also be getting a PS4 so I'll be checking out a few online or multi-player titles like ESO.

I'm excited about the game but if it is just a big disappointment I don't really care.  There are enough new games coming out that look like I will enjoy my time in that it really doesn't matter much.

Where is the option to predict soooooo many more people will be in the "disappointed" group then who realize.

The hype is out of control and so many people have already "invented" EQN in their heads.

    Oh, the backlash.

I never played EQ or EQ2, only UO. I don't have any real plans to play EQN. I don't have any real plans to not play it either. I haven't seen any real information on the game, so I don't have solidified notions of what the game will be like. It's not really possible for me to be disappointed in the game. If I am disappointed, I will be very surprised, and will probably post about it on these forums. That's about it I think.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

I have maintained a cautiously realistic perspective on this project.  If it fails to grab me, if it bombs?  I'll sigh, roll my eyes, and send out a couple pointed Tweets to certain people.

I think I'll just cry about it eh.  A good cry can really make you feel better, except for the stuffy nose.  I hate that!

I'll move on to another new MMO so that I can get disappointed yet again.

The way i look at it is the same way i view the new Star Wars movies.  If they are cool, great, we gained.  If they suck, im no worse off now than i was before.  Would it suck to see such an opportunity wasted, yes.  But in the end.  Wouldnt really change my overall disposition.

Reality is ill probably just play more BF4.

Just not hinge any hopes on EQN in the first instance.

Continue waiting for Star Citizen's release.
  • leroysgleroysg Member UncommonPosts: 97

ever since the appearance from VSOH, WAR, AOC, FFXIV (Non-AAR), Aion, Tera, GW2...list goes on.  I don't remember having a blast that last me for years in playing them like  EQ, EQ2 & WoW vanilla days.

I will wait for  the game launched for more than a year and prolly will turn free to play (you know who are they).

mmo to me is like declining business (prolly capture certain niche market / players), no more social with good gameplay content like before.

    just look elsewhere...other than mmo

i dont have any expectations for EQN beyond playing a new mmo w EQ lore

I'm not expecting EQN to launch this year (but i have no clue)

Wildstar is the only new mmo im looking forward to playing in 2013

*points at sig* Since I assume its going to be a major dissapointment, i'll be pleasently surprized if its not. I expect it to just be the next generic wow clone no matter what BS the devs say. Which if it is, I won't be bothering with it at all.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

Yeah Wildstar actually sounds intersting combat system is a bit like Tera, and the path system is sort of neat too, though the quest system will probally just be a linear rail ride like most wow-wannabe's, With the exception of the settler's camps that can generate quests. But yeah, Wildstar seems like it might be decently fun, and I like how they plan 40 man raids and don't plan to fully cater to casuals. Casuals have ruined mmorpg's and gaming as a whole.

The same thing we MMO'ers do every night, Pinky, We'll find the next game that is a year or less for launch, and we shall say that it will be the best MMO to date once it launches.  We've been running this cycle for a long time now.

Be sad for about 30 minutes.

It's a game after all. One of hundreds.

There are currently at least 5 games I never tried yet that are suppose to be great.

Also there are a few other games not far from release that also hold promise.

    Life goes on.

It's SOE, it's not a question of if, but when.  They're not allowed on my hard drive anyways.

    What an odd thread topic.

If its not very good I'll stop playing it and do something else. What did you imagine people will do?

Have another bash at bringing SWG back
  • RoguewizRoguewiz Member UncommonPosts: 711

I'll deal with it the same way I deal with other games that disappoint me:  Shrug it off, play a console game, and wait about 6-months before I try the game out that disappointed me.
