One thing I really appreciated about the EQ games is you could make your character appear how you wanted. Take a look at the modern slew of games: its a beauty pageant. In EQ, I tended to roll the oddballs. Bring on the Ogres and Trolls!
I was fond of making a Troll Necro. Female, with an extra serving of ugly.
I think i would have to choose a class from EQOA the Alchemist. to date i think it was the most fun i ever had with any character. nothing like stacking up 2000 AoE pots to go chuck at the Children of Xarg In the Elephant Graveyard.
Wood elf druid is my all time favorite, but then it was the first class I created in EQ1. Druid in WoW was also my favorite class in that game. Unfortunately druids in the Everquest franchise have lost their identity over the years. Will be interested to see how SOE implement the druids again in EQN.

Race - Troll definitely
Class - Ranger/Shaman/Wizard type generally.
The young version of me enjoyed the Vah Shir Shaman when I played.
But being older and wiser now, I would be so pyched to do an Iskar monk this time around.
Really hope though they don't split classes based on alignment though!
