For all you Eve online or CPP fans out there. Please speak up and say no to EA. They've tainted every thing they have touched. If i'm right and i hope i'm dead wrong about this. It seem that CPP is selling their soul to EA. Dean Decker " the Devil" himself has walked into CPP's door. Heres an article about this.

Do you think this will effect World of Darkness online? Tell me what you think is going happen or if its already happening.
Is this the end of CPP?

Since I do not typically follow the carreers of individual developers all I can say is just because someone worked at EA does not mean they suck. The overall corporation may have forced an individual to follow a set of rules and guidelines they did not entirely agree with to create products that attempt to have mass market appeal and usually fail. Perhaps this move to CCP will enable the guy to do what he really wants in the way he wants to do it?
Now if you had told me CCP was selling controlling interest in their games to EA then I would say the whole structure would likely go down in flames. The fact is CCP has been around a while and people age and move on with their careers or retire and or the company expands. At some point they have to bring in new people to fill critical roles.
Just because they hired someone from EA doesn't mean they are in anyway associated with EA. People change companies all the time. CCP has their own style and they aren't going to become EA just by hiring someone who use to work for them.
Also imo CCP already had their wake up call from the community with the direction they were headed a few years back.
That makes me feel a little better but isn't he the guy that companies hire to market the F2P style? Hes no developer just another suit and all they think is green.
They can't be selling themselves because well, they aren't selling. They are hiring an employee that no longer works for EA. Now if they were contemplating a sellout/merger with EA I could see what you are saying. But I bet they have more people than just the one who has at some point worked for EA.
Idk, we'll just have to see. But to tell you the truth, i think the EVE player base is a very VERY vocal and vindictive group. If CCP does something they don't like, it won't just be Jita burning in EVE.
CCP has stated repeatedly that WoD will be a heavy micro transaction based game (and for the first time in my life I don't see a problem with it) World of Darkness..Vampire Masquerade..politically driven..how you look...where you feed and mingle..all tied into the clothes you wear. it really does make sense. However i do not believe they will allow WoD to be F2P. EvE is technically still a subscription based model..(even though you can buy and sell and trade items in game to amass enough isk to buy plex which in effect is game time.)
My hopes and anticipation for WoD has been greater than for any other game in the history of MY gaming experience. The heavily guarded press releases and videos containing avatar models and clothing has me quite excited enough already.
At my age.(44) The release of WoD will do one of two things..renew my faith in the gaming industry and give me a place to throw my money for at least 5 years...OR..give me an excuse to use my PC for other hobbies non game related.(the direction the gaming industry has been leaning towards the last 5 years with F2P and P2W and Mandatory transactions in order to have fun have pushed me dangerously close to the realization that what I discovered to be fun and immersive and and awe inspiring about gaming in the late 90s-05 simply is not what the kids of today want nor is it what the Industry wants to provide any longer.)
