Just registered my open beta key but no download is available atm, anyone know when they expect to open the doors for it?
One thing I cannot stand about FFXIV and specifically SE are their forums, account management etc, its so frustrating at times to get the simple things done.

New Benchmark coming Aug 1st with the character generator in it so you can spend hours making your perfect char then save it for start of Open beta.
Next live letter is do Aug 8th which is when we have been told we will find out about Open beta dates and Early Access.
Yes, to those that applied for one, they'll open applications again once they know the serves can handle the current amount of people.

Deadlines for Beta Test Applications and Beta Code Registration (07/19/2013)
For those who have registered a beta code by Tuesday, July 30th, 2013 9:59p.m. (PDT), you will automatically be accepted to participate in Beta Test phase 4 (final Beta Test). If you have not yet registered a beta code, please make sure to complete the registration process before the above date.
For those of you who have not yet applied for the Beta Test, please submit your application by Monday, July 22, 2013 (PDT).
Application Period:
* On the above date and time, the Beta Tester Application Site will be temporarily closed and will reopen when Beta Test phase 4(final Beta Test) begins.
Registration Period:
* If your beta code has not been registered by the above date and time, you will need to resubmit your application at the Beta Tester Application Site once Beta Test phase 4 begins.
Ugh F me. I absolutely was not thinking. I forgot it was retroactive. I thought we had to register a completely new code for it. Yes I was in beta 2 and 3.

No, I think you are fine. If you were in the first two betas, you don't have to do anything else. You are in. You just have to register the beta code that you got originally by today. And since you were in betas 1 and 2, you obviously registered that code ...
You'll get the info about downloading the client later, since it's a completely new build you need to uninstall and install the new clietn.

Hopefully the servers don't get bogged down when everyone tries to download the new build at the same time.
The download is probably going to be P2P, like how most other MMOs does it.

It's so good that you need a key for 'open beta'.
They should sell 'free' beta keys for 5 USD each too.
