this mini game allows everyone 5 statements of what he expects to see and hear at SOE live concerning EQnext.
-an open seemless main PvE world with PvP in a sepperate part of the world
- challenging PvE combat, with trains and deathpennalties and building PvE factions or becomming KOS to other factions
- stories and quests in instances and or sepperate phases of the world.
- player owned buildings in PvP
- player controlled economy based on crafting..
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Comments
1. Open seamless world with a variety of open and instanced dungeon content
2. Challenging combat with slow levelling. No single-player levelling to max.
3. Complex npc faction system
4. Epic weapon quests
5. Complex but rewarding crafting system
Since we are talking about SOE, I don't know what to expect.. Sometimes they swoon you, but most of the time they disappoint you.. I'm sure they won't go into details, but will only keep it basic so the hype train keeps chugging down the tracks.. If I was to guess tho..
Lets see your Battle Stations /r/battlestations
Battle Station
1. Open seamless world being PvE driven,
2. Classes with be dumbed down that losses any complexity.
3. Leveling curve will be fairly easy.
4. Instanced dungeons and raids.
5. Cash shop will be "vanity and time efficient items only."
Really just wanted to say #5. Laying odds that by the time the game releases people are going to be massively be disappointed in EQN due to unrealistic expectations and that the game is going after a broad audience at the cost of game mechanic complexity or what people envision what EQN should be.
I hope to see:
-A world that feels like a world
-Great graphics and animations
-Innovation
I expect to see this:
^^ This.
Played: EQ1 (10 Years), Guild Wars, Rift, TERA
Tried: EQ2, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Runes of Magic and countless others...

1 Meaningful choices starting right at character creation I want my choices to matter even if it's punishing.
2. Bring back the need for CC.
3. Factions matter especially regarding PVP I prefer RvR style PVP . Gives me sieges please.
4. Slower leveling that doesn't feel grindy make it fun to to enjoy the journey.
5. Class limitations I don't want everyone to be able to fill every role. I want to know my job in a group/raid is unique and I have purpose that can't just be filled by someone of another class.
NPC AI extends to mobs, meaning the do more than just stand around.
NPC AI that truly blows your mind.
Immersion to the degree that for a few hours I forget about the real world for my alternate reality experience.
In depth crafting system that allows you to make unique weapons, not the same thing the guy next to makes.
Amazing graphics that make me stop and marvel at the world sometimes.
1. Best UGC tools of any game to date
2. Objective style PvP that players get to shape the land and buildings, no forced PvP.
3. Can be all classes on one char, or build a class from skills with restrictions. Your class sucks its your own fault.
4. Player housing will tie into all areas of the game, crafting, raiding, PvP
5. The game wont be 100% sandbox, more like 40-60%
1.) Lots of silence and tantalizing bits dropped just before to peak curiosity and drive hype (think we are already here, so maybe this one is a freebie)
2.) Grand unveiling hits - lots of "live action" videos of various components - people grouping up in nostalgic places killing nostaligc enemies (Flippy Darkpaw), cool spell effects, pretty vistas of sunsets over a ship dock in Qeynos, etc. The word "Sandbox" will be used a lot, along with emphasizing "Your story". PvP will also be mentioned, and there will probably be a video of people fighting (in some nostalgic place (The Arena), with cool spell effects going off).
3.) Not a lot of real information aside from the teaser videos is given out, beta isn't available yet ("Soon!"), people aren't allowed to play it at the event.
4.) A few bits get leaked that probably weren't supposed to; someone gets wind of what will actually be in the cash shop and causes a stink; PvPers find out there will be one server for open world PvP and the other 47 servers will not, Sandboxers will be mad that housing will be in instanced zones and virtually all group content is instanced, crafters will be mad that high end crafting will require raid drops, purists will be mad that everyone gets rez/heal/teleport, etc.
5.) A few people will throw up a huge stink about the few bits, most people will get even more hyped by seeing old EQ memories lit up in the new Forgelight graphics engine. Beta will be just in time for the holidays, with pre-order specials abundant ($199 "Founder" status! Just $17.99/month for "Platinum" level benefits. What a deal!) The game will finally be released, a huge number of people will play it for a couple of months (maybe 2-3M) - then everyone will realize it isn't EQ1/SWG/EQ2/whatever they were hoping it would be, it will die out to a much smaller but stable population and we won't really hear from it again until it's time to release the first expansion pack in 9 months.
I hope I'm wrong, but I've been sold too much snake oil by Smedley to not be wary.
1. Foundry type player tools to create their own content
2. PvP area in the open world ala Archeage (This is more a hope than anything else)
3. Factions will be important likely in PvP and PvE and there will be more than two
4. Limited open world sandbox type activities
5. Disappointing in that SOE thinks sandbox means foundry type stuff
I have no idea what type of combat they are going to use. I imagine they are not going to go with WoW combat, but something more action based...but I have no good feel for it.
I'm very sure that SOE thinks foundry (instanced player made content) qualifies as sandbox. I'm very concerned that the open world is going to be a sidenote and they will focus on the money making opportunities of some new and improved instanced player made content.
1. No mini maps
2. No fast travel
3. No Instances
4. No quests
5. Cash shop to unlock the above
I did a wtf for 1-4 and an lol for #5
Lol, I will be saving a lot of money in that case. Pay to make the game worse haha.
Edit: I can't believe they would make the game as cartoony as WoW and Wildstar as some here are guessing.
I will sum up my impression of whatever will be said:
Overly hyped game creates much disappointment when launched.
It is SOE we are talking about so I believe I am about 85-90% accurate.
My expectations:
Day 1 -- Massive lag and an overwhelmed authentication server. Both on EQN and MMORPG.com.
Day 10 -- Most players able to access game. Major rant-fest on MMORPG.com with disappointment and raves everywhere.
Day 100 -- The first major patch rolls out to correct in-game balance. Revival on the MMORPG.com rant-fest, calling this a class-nerfing.
Day 1000 -- A major expansion changes the focus of EQN. You thought the rants on MMORPG.com before were bad, just wait.
Day 10000 -- EQN+ is announced. The cycle repeats. My bet is on Norrath 2!
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. See you at day 10001!
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
