LOL, please re-read that sentence. You may as well be saying, I know someone who claims to know something, but won't tell me anything, so I think he is telling the truth that he knows something.
I saw the news quickly after it came out and was able to register for the "Everquest Next" beta and the "Everquest Next Landmark" beta. Thought is was BS or some scam but when I went through the process it was legit. Get ready folks, beta is coming.

i honestly do have a soft spot for SOE and their games, but let's be honest, if they can't pull off a simple beta test signup check on their website w/o screwing it up ... let's just not be too hasty in our accolades for EQN as the savior of all that is good in the world.

The 2nd link just worked for me and got the email saying
"You have registered for the EverQuest Next and EverQuest Next Landmark Beta programs. Once you have been selected to join the Beta, you will receive an email with further instructions. In the meantime, we want you to help us design EverQuest Next! "

Yes because web-design and game-design are completely the same thing, made by exact same people.

Well if nothing else, it's a good sign that the game is far enough along that they could make a mistake like this.
I doubt they'd design a beta signup page if the game was 2 years away from being ready.
