Purchased the game during 1.0. Not legacy. Do i get early access?

in Final Fantasy XIV

Sorry in advance as im sure this has been asked before.

 

if i dont have early access, is there a way i can upgrade my existing copy of the game?

    I suggest you go to the FF14 website, log in, got to my account and check.

     

    if that doesn't work perhaps looking/asking on that site's forum might get you a better response.

    only legacy and those who preorder get the 'early access'. I'm not sure about upgrading, but if you already have the game you can purchase from an online vendor and then cancel after receiving the pre-order code if you want. that's what I did at Amazon.

     

    or you can apply to phase 4 open beta (which is supposed to be 1 week minimum) and if no game breaking bugs occur your character progress will carry over--and that can be your "early access" :)

    Thank you much for the flowchart. Looks like i will preorder the standard edition now unless the collector items are nice. Too bad my initial purchase of the game back in 1.0 doesnt count as a preorder :(

    my question is does those pre-order code from amzon still work after you cancel order before you get to enter code on the site. Since the SE site doesnt allow codes to be entered atm.

    I won't know until they open pre-order code registration on August 8th and I try to put it in :)

     

    But so far I've kept the email I've received with the code and haven't received anything about them invalidating it (that's if they would even bother to notify you if they were to invalidate it).
