Yes its true. Not sure how a feel about it, but I bet its gonna be like Matrix Online were everyone is a Neo wanna be. But in Pirates of the Caribbean everyone will be a Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) wanna be.

"The game will go on release in summer 2006 in conjunction with the new film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest".

Pretty good. But can it compete with Pirates of the Burning Sea? Then again, this will probably be a lot more arcade-ish.
Disney is making it........I bet is going to be a big commercial piece of crap.
Anyway I hope I am wrong and they manage to translate it adequately from movie to game.
god I hope not, I would love something a bit more realistic like Master and COmmander.

But honestly, Michael Eisner has been making Disney less of a standard for excellence over the years, making everything cheaper and such. I don't have much hope for this game. Nothing is really going for it. If they want to make a serious MMORPG why don't they come up with a new story instead of ruining their own license. Or better yet, why don't they stick to what they're good at, or at least to what they WERE good at. (Making animated films) It's the same with their other movies, they always overuse their license like making endless sequals to decent movies. For instance, the Lion King was a very good animated movie, with it's Highest quality everthing (Including the Hans Zimmer score ^_^) they had to ruin it by making a number 2 and a... 1 1/2??? wtf?
