Difficulty

So we have seen the graphics, heard about the gameplay, and personally I dont have a problem with either. The whole "ONLY 8 SKILLS!!!11" argument is silly in my opinion considering originally EQ had much less (Warriors - Kick, Taunt, Bash).

I am worried most about difficulty. I want tiers to be difficult to achieve. Good armor should be a challenge and should take time to acquire. Unique items such as levitation cloaks or SoW boots should be rare and difficult to get. Reaching the highest tier should be an investment and time consuming. Raiding should require time investments (unless you are good enough to complete them faster).  Getting to the best grouping spots should be hard and the fear of death should be a deterrant.

Yes we are all so busy these days that we don't have time to dedicate hundreds of hours a week to the game, but that doesn't mean they should make the best items easy to acquire. I hope they bring back a fraction of the difficulty in original EQ, the death penalty, the fear of loss, the time investment, and that feeling of accomplishment.

    They are not.  At this point it seems weapons might give different skills, but it won't make you stronger.  There is no vertical progression....this not only is not Everquest it is barely even an RPG.
