So I thought I'd post my questions at 4:40AM!
Anyways, the game says that it doesn't support Windows XP, however when I run the benchmark I score an easy 9k+ with my crap tier computer. I am legitimately confused.
If I were so abysmally bored that I wanted to buy this game so that I could hate myself and regret in the future, would I be able to actually play it? Is the benchmark an accurate indicator as to the performance of live play on at least a medium pop server?

It really depends to be honest, especially on how you set it up. Things like AA and bloom and shadows can really bog down the score, if you take all those factors out luckily this game is pretty accommodating to a mid to low tier computer. But after seeing it on standard, I was nowhere near as excited as playing on maximum. To me, it was like looking at ffxi on the ps2 compared to the current ff14.

did you minimize the benchmark while it ran? i did that the first time, looked at the youtubes while it ran and got some absurd scores (18k, max settings)
letting it run normally gave me far more accurate scores, in the 4.5k range.
heh.. I would suggest making sure your settings are appropriately set.. I get 9280 on my top tier system... but then again I have the test set to Maximum and on 1920x1080.. I get 28k when it is on the default setting...
