That would be some nice dynamic content right there.

This would obviously be by far the coolest solution, however I don't know how feasible it is in a large scale mmorpg due to the amount of diffrent armor models etc.

I realise Rosie did the original eq1 stuff, but to me it seems like shes been way to heavily influenced by this fluffywuffy trash generation of mmorpgs that we are desperatly trying to climb our way out of.

If nothing else this thread has made it perfectly clear that she is not nearly as correct as she thought about most people wanting "pretty" ogres and trolls.

At the very least the next round table poll should be about this.

If I wanted to play a metrosexual character id play a highelf or woodelf, not ogre or a troll.

I just can't get over how stupid this very question is.  What's next, she's going to say something like "Well, we're going to have gnomes and dwarves, but people don't REALLY want them to be short, do they?  I mean, no one wants to play as a short stump, right?  Let's have ourselves some tall, well-built and handsome gnomes."

Here is what I see on this forum. The same EQ neckbeards repeating over and over that they don't like something in hope they will get it changed. Worse, they are getting downright caustic and insulting. Honestly, my recommendation for the EQN development team would be to leave this forum and never come back.

I'm actually surprised avatars aren't more muscular than currently portrayed.

    Seriously.

If I'm a warrior, SK, or pally spending all my time running around a huge world and swinging a massive sword or axe around at giants and monsters, and all while wearing a heavy suit of armor, it would stand to reason that I'm in fairly decent shape, even as an Ogre or Troll. I'd have to be just so I could get through the day without falling over dead from exhaustion. I'm frankly amazed that more humanoid warriors all don't look like Thor or like the Spartans in 300.

Likewise, if I'm a ranger or rogue that relies on bows and arrows or daggers and my wits, I'm going to abide by the first rule of Zombieland and be a cardio fiend, with just enough flexibility and stamina to survive.

Honestly, the only characters in a game that I could see being indolent and fat are wizards and mages, since they depend on their magic to fight their battles for them.

No offense to rosie but she seems a bit out of touch with the mmorpg crowd, there are people who purposly want "ugly" characters, I know if im gonna roll a male char I don't want it to be some lame boyband looking pantsy.

Ogres are not supposed to be pretty, neither are trolls or iksars for that mather.

Overall theres no benefit to not offering a "fat" race, isnt the whole point of multiple races to give people a choice?

No offense but the concept art I've seen of the ogres so far look more like orcs the ogres.

    So $#*@ing true.

Rosie is ridiculously out of touch.

MANY think the Ogres wrongly look like Orcs.

I love the original ugly troll and ogre races from EQ1.  Everything they made since just paled in comparison.

    Pshh...EQ2 Ogre > EQ1 Ogre ... >|

Agreed, though, that Ogres must be ugly.

Players who want to be attractive ogres should probably just go ahead and eat a bag of poison for being so stupid.

At least a slider would be nice, ogres are supposed to have a belly, no-one can call Shrek slim and he is probably the most popular ogre ever.

Newsflash, the majority of mmo gamers arnt female (Im sure theres quite a few of them don't get me wrong), we don't need firm male asses or sixpack abs and we also don't need the male faces that look like a proffesional make up artist did theyr makeup!

Infact Im gueesing most of us male gamers find that kinda character to be disturbing.

Wake up rosie, take a look at the dwarf beard poll, we don't want forced super model characters! We want the option to choose, so why the hell would you ruin ogres, trolls and other similar races?

Lord knows you got enough races that you can make feminine, so give the ogres and trolls to the guy with the sexy dwarf beard from the blackbox vid.

Defition of ogre:  Ogres  are beings that are usually depicted as large, hideous, humanoid monsters.

But yeah, let's make ogres pretty and/or handsome.

Think bright wizards from WAR as what I want from a human character.  Beat up and grizzled.  I don't need estrogen infused character that are pretty.  Perhaps it should be an option, but there should also be the option to beat your character with a barbed ugly stick at character creation.

For me its part of immersion, you don't go about mass murdering beasts and monsters without some scars and scratches.

This.  I just don't understand guys that want everything the same and pretty.  I understand women wanting to look pretty but guys man up here, damn.

I'm starting to think Trolls are not going to be a playable race.  Everyone keeps talking about ogres only.

Male characters are a niche aswell, just saying.

Id say its far cooler to play as a grim and ugly character with some nasty features then playing a pretty boy, I feel directly uncomfortable playing male chars in most mmo's these days because they honestly don't look male, they look girlish, and its freaking disturbing.

Well, that shows that some of the Dev's pay attention to this forum. I think that's a very good thing.  Are they merely hearing, or are they listening, is the question I'd like to know.

I liked the art for the new Ogre, even though we haven't seen it in game yet. However, there are some herp derps in every society, so I would love to still see some fat/dumb oafs running around scratching their butts! EQN is supposed to be all about choices. Well, don't limit them then!

I want fat ogres and trolls as the old skins of EQ1.

People that like to play an ogre or a troll are not interested to be pretty  and cute, they want to be  MONSTERS.

I want to eat my enemy after i have kill it !!!!!

Well, i dont think that a player that want to look cool, will choose an ogre or a troll.

Hovether devs always say that this game will give to all players the possibility to play the character they want...ok i want to be a fat and ugly ogre.
