Many (but not every) PVE lovers here, talk about how much they hate open pvp (this includes open rvr where you arent able to damage friends).
I have a question to those guys.
Imagine a game that has open RvR between 2 races/team/countries, but every player is of the same team, country or race... and the other team is made of AI....
What would you think about this idea, would you still hate it or not?

Would I enjoy a game with PvE opponents scaled so that even the "trash" mobs would have a 50-50 chance of winning against me? Probably not.
But the reason I avoid PvP (and most competitive PvE) is not because of the winning percentage, it's because I don't enjoy zero-sum relationships where I can only win by making another person lose.
What's rvr?
You will not make a person lose, because its ai , its not a person. The entire point of my idea is that its rvr against ai not players.
Also as I said friendly fire is 100% impossible.
Also "thrash" would not have 50-50 chance against you unless you are at low level, because after that, if you want a higher chance than 50-50 just focus on low level ai (but the high level ones would help them)
PS: RVR is one team fighting against other, basically a war (but this can be instancied, on a specific place and the game can have safe zones).
Sorry I wasn't clear - as a non-PvPer, there's no reason I would oppose the concept of large-scale factional conflict if my opponents weren't players.
(I'm just anticipating that there are other design issues that would pop up along the way that aren't directly the result of PvE vs PvP)
Some Pvre players would maybe say it would have basically the same problems because of teamkill, but I already said the game would not have team damage.

It depends on if a game is fun, which depends on implementation, and polish.
I don't play a game just because of an idea.
Maybe you, but some here say they will not play a permadeath game, without even checking the features. And i made this thread to see if people would be open about pve if it was made this way.
Some would be against (so, not only, not play) even a game with 2 separated servers, one with permadeath and another without it.
Rvr can't be instanced or timed, the whole nature of rvr is that it is persistent territorial battle between fixed factions.
Wow battlegrounds are not rvr, neither is lake wintergrasp and neither is WvW (because its timed and there are no realms)
