Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade
Question: Will one be able to create character from different factions? For example, I have already created and upgraded a Space Marine, can I create another character, Eldar, simultaneously? Or there is only one character for one player?
Answer: Yes you will be able to play any race in the game. We are considering some constraints to prevent/reduce spying behaviours, but you can play as any available race.
Question: You promised there would be Necrons and Tau in the new addons. The question is – will I have to develop my characters from the scratch, or I can convert a maxed-out Space Marine into a Necron or Tau of corresponding level?
Answer: You will have to restart from the beginning the progression but there is no level in the game. The progression is mainly horizontal which means that even with limited options your very first character will be efficient on the battlefield.
Question: Have you considered Inquisition with Grey Knights as a separate faction?
Answer: We are thinking about it
Question: Will there be a possibility for an initially loyal Space Marine to take the Chaos side? “Fall into heresy” so to say
Answer: This is not in the scope of Eternal Crusade. We are not treating the “Fall”.
Question: Will there be Daemons and will they be able to possess my Chaos Space Marine?
Answer: This is a reasonable assumption. Each race will have specific perks and powers, in-line with the IP, helping them on the battlefield.
Question: What part does the fleet take, except for the base location? Are orbital bombings, etc. possible?
Answer: Players’ quarters and guild halls will be in space in the fleets. Strike cruisers owned by the guilds are upgradable and will be able to support the troops on the ground.
Question: You gave a colourful description of dealing the final blows to the enemy in one of your interviews. Chopping off arms, heads… What is the age rate you aim at now?
Answer: We are aiming for a Mature rating.
Question: Will the events in the universe main timeline effect the intra-game events Black Crusades, for example?
Answer: No. The timeline and series of event will be specific to the campaigns.
Question: You mentioned the gamers will be able to gain their own cruisers. Can those be attacked and/or boarded?
Answer:No, the Game is focused on planetary warfare. The battle will only happen on the surface of the planet.
Question: Will Orks and Eldar have clans, like Space Marines’ Chapters?
Answer: Yes, Clans for Orks and Craftworlds for Eldars.
Question: Dark Angels’ back tells of a division "Raven’s Wing", made up of speeders and bikes. Will there be a chance to mount a motorbike?
Answer: All space marines chapter might have bike companies. The Raven’s wing will be featured with the Dark angels chapter for launch.
Question: According to the background the power weapon gloves, fists, etc. spends the energy of the power armour – is it the same in your game?
Answer: This is a false information but it is easy to do the mistake because of the name similarity. Power weapons have their own source of energy usually built in the weapon itself, concealed within the hilt or haft. And this is how our power weapons are going to work in Eternal Crusade.
Question: How do you plan to implement teleportation?
Answer: Deep striking units are part of Eternal crusade, so this is a yes.
Question: Will there be dreadnoughts and will they be playable?
Answer: Yes the mighty Dreadnoughts will be playable, with restrictions.
Question: Will you realize capsule landing drop-pods and will it cause damage to enemy?
Answer: On the damage part we are still debating that specific aspect. It is a mechanic which could be fun for sure and we might end up adding a damage zone around the landing Area, but this is not decided yet.
Question: Imperial Guard was mentioned to be added. How will it be balanced to stronger creatures, like SM, Orks?
Answer: If the Imperial Guard will be added this is going to be post launch. This is one of the challenges we will have to address at that time.
Question: How will be the healing realized? Will Orks and SM renew their health automatically? Or do they need apothecaries and medicae’s assistance aid?
Answer: Each race will have its own means for healing, Apothecary, Painboy, Regeneration, life stealing ... etc. It will be themed and balanced for each faction.
Question: You wrote of alliances. What is your vision of the alliance system between the factions? We do hope the possibilities would be limited, and there is no chance for Eldar to ally with Chaos, and Orks with Astartes. It infringes the lore severely.
Answer: This is a delicate matter since some alliance combinations are forbidden by the lore. We want to let players decide what they want to do but we also want to stay in-line with the lore. This is something we will debate with the design team for a long time I am sure.
Question: Will there be Techno Marines?
Answer: Potentially.
Question: Will there be any limitation to the presence of certain classes in the region or to the composition of an order/faction?
Answer: Yes there is a limit for powerful classes but we are talking about soft constraints like a cooldown or cost, not a hard number count.
Question: Can one wage a guild to fight in a battlefield, separate from the main campaign, to have a duel between two armies there?
Answer: In an open world everything is possible, but this specific aspect is not going to be encouraged by the game design.
Question: Will the game design be dark and gory? Like bloody corpse of slaves and all the stuff, that revolts people in the Chaos territory. Will the conquered territory be coloured differently depending on the race, that controls it?
Answer: The building’s appearance will be affected by the controlling faction. We have a dark and grim game but we don’t want to fall into the trap of gore escalation. There will be gore where it makes sense to have it.
Question: Do you plan different levels of damage for different fire arms? bolts, plasma, shuriken, etc.
Answer: Yes like in the table top different weapon will have different effect, damage, strength, range, fire rate … different weapons for different purposes.
Question: How can one get access to the closed beta-test?
Answer: The first to Register on the web site will be the first to be invited to the betas J
Question: When can we finally see the first screenshots and real gameplay video?
Answer: Soon J
Question: Russian-speaking countries are rich in Warhammer 40K fans, can they expect the Russian localization?
Answer: We’re evaluating what languages we can localize, but Russian is a high priority.

I wonder if he means they'll literally be playable or if they'll be featured. Controlling a dreadnought sounds cray-cray. Not in a bad way, I just wonder how a person will gain access to it and how powerful it will be.
Also, thanks for posting this.

I am assuming this means you have some sort of 'currency' which you use to select your class each time we deploy to the battlefield upon death?
Damn, I was looking forward to permanently being a Terminator . I guess it will be a lot like Battlefield.
