SOE strikes again

swiftflowswiftflow Member Posts: 239

Check out the SWG forums on the offfical site. The Player base is furious at SOE for some new update which apparently made everything worse. I started reading posts this morning that were reasonable about their complaints and most have been deleted.

Let's see now....SOE decimated Planetside with their 2 major upgrades and now SWG. How much longer until EQ2 gets it so bad by the dev F'ups that even the staunchest EQ2 fanboi begins cancelling?

I am so gun shy of anything made by Sony at this point  just hearing their name puts images of dog doo in my mind.

why do you always feel the need to put other games down? what about putting other games down gives you so much pleasure?

i for one happen to like the combat change in SWG but thats for that board not this one. also, i know a lot of other people that do also but you dont hear from them. the people that go to the boards to bitch and complain are just a very small minority of the population. most of the game likes it which is why you dont hear from them. THEYRE PLAYING THE DAMN GAME!

go back to the troll cave where you came from.

Nihilanth - Kerra Paladin - Blackburrow - EverQuest II

If all you wanted to read was complaints you could have stayed on Bilzzrds forums. That's all they are.

Hehe, lot of valid complaints about SoE and EQ2, don't get your panties in a bunch.

Forums are about an exchange of ideas, not bashing everyone who says something negative about your pet game.

My view they ruined EQ2! Its like EQ and the maps are boring : Zoning is alful and after lvl 20 its boring :P

But it was fun for a month which is more than most games :)

Just glad i was in beta august 2004 :P Played after release and the horse nerf was too much had to sell it bk and lost money! its a shame that all these new updates come now :S Why not put them in b4 its released cus they knew we wanted them

Plus SOE arnt as bad as Blizzards new WOW team :P they ruined the pvp servers with the honour system and the game isnt all that great anyways

Please point to the valid complaint, I must have missed it. You're also missing the point that the poster was posting something about SWG on an EQ2 forum specificly to taunt us, because he likes WoW.

You see he's not intelligent enough to understand that just because he likes one game doesn't mean he has to bash another.

All he has done is post worthless statements with nothing to back them up, as is typical from this moron.

don't play SWG..don't care about SWG. But I am wondering what the hell this has to do with EQ2 other then you using another of there games to take a stab at the company.

I agree with "Nihilanth" totaly. I think its sad if people judge a game by reading the forums, its full of the unsatisfied customers. The fans are busy playing!

But mmorpgs are just as in real life. Whenever there is change there will allways be unhappy people over it. Its imposabul to make all 100% happy.

So if you are one of the unhappy, then dont play. With change it will bring in even more people to fill in the spot of the unhappy.

I doubt what I typed was immature trolling. EQ2 players that are still in the game are having a hard time accepting the game is a flop.

    and they are roundly ignored

you know that little caveat they put on the box?  "gameplay experience may change"

well blizzard is making the most of that, I swear -- someone gets a major brainfart, lobbies for it, and then the changes go in place and all of the sudden you are playing a different game

sometimes change is good, sometimes bad, it happens and it's normal  *shrug*  no complaints

the only thing is that blizzard is going nuts with changes, going way too fast and implementing halfassed things and not addressing what people are asking for and pointing out -- and most of all, undocumented changes are rampant.

they have a right to complain there, and as I said it's mostly getting ignored.  blizzard has people running to the game in droves.  at this point -- they could crap on a stick, wave it around, and people would still run after it.

na, blizzard boards are filled with fanboys now too.  the gank tracking system (there are no dishonorable kills) has many supporters

You're right Swift, all 350,000 of us do find it hard to believe it's a flop. Maybe you should I don't know actually play it before rendering judgement, but being the mindless simpleton you are, just follow the masses buddy they'll tell you want to like do worry about actually thinking ::::28::

Eh... are you sure the development teams are the same? The same team doing all of the updates?!? That implies that they are familiar with all of the coding with both games..... quite impressive.. (considering that MMORPG's are around the oh.... 10s of 100s  of thousands of lines of coding.... yes.... they must be ...ANDROIDS... )

    It all makes sense now.

But seriously: They have come up with more solutions and additional content in one month than World of Warcraft came up with in three months.... or Final Fantasy XI in .. well.. a year?

Don't get me wrong though; I would take WoW (as a game... F**K blizzard) over EQ2 any day of the week.. (mostly because of PVP, however).

If it is the same team dealing with SWG and EQ2, then they must have bi-polar disorder and the poor SWG people must be on the wrong end.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

SWG needed a wicked combat update since release. They promised and promised and finally did a big one.

MY only question is, did it shake things up enough? I doubt it, but I've been reading around on it. Man that game had so much FvF potential. I was so disappointed. But maybe someday...

You're defintely in a dream world if you think 350,000 people play EQ2. This may have been true 7 months ago but now it's not even close to that. I watched 2 server's population get reduced to ghost towns in a 4 month span.

The rest of your post is just some undecipherable rambling. Clean it up and maybe I'll respond to it,

If they did have 350k, it was before what I called "hell week".

I'd guess after the ninja haze nerf to shaman, the admittance of the froglok deception, the announcement of a full combat revamp, and then the topper, the station exchange, all within about a week of each other, that they took a pretty good hit to subscription numbers.

I'm sure some will be back and some will be replaced by the new "players"(and I use that term loosely) coming in for the Station Exchange.

Others they have lost for good.

    Too bad really.

IMO EQ2 was a decent game.

    Dear swiftflow,

You are a idiot.  Go back to your troll cave somewhere on Kalimdor.  Well, once your server gets back up that is.

    Love, Nytur.

But seriously, stay in the WoW boards. Alot of people enjoy EQ2.  So, start posting here once your hit your 13th birthday and can go to bed past 9 o' clock.  G'night kid

You got me. I am in complete denial. You see I had a bad childhood. My dad worked and my mom had to clean the house and ever since then my life has been tragic.

I keep a picture of Smedley on my dresser with candles burning around it and I worship it each day.

Is that better there swiftflow, I think thats what you wanted to hear, so run along now. The bridge you belong under is starting to get lonely.
