I just think that group casting mechanic is genius. The spell casting slowly drains energy until completion. So it could save energy for spell casters to co-ordinate that. And it gives many casters time to perform other actions if they time their synchronization to the original caster to happen just right. Some nice group synergy strategies there.
I'm thinking of picking up the game tomorrow after work now. XD
One more thing I want to mention in spell mechanics is that some spells can be charged in levels of tiers when your casting them, like the longer you cast the stronger it will be in damage or effect. Which I think would also be a good feature to add to EQN magic system or any mmo for that matter.
Spell is so slow, that it was good that they found higher ground to safely complete the cast of it. I think that's really interesting.
Exactly one of the reasons why I hope its like this. Environment should be a major factor in combat.
This raises a good point. In modern MMORPGs it's rare to even take falling damage during play (like TSW) or even see cover like rocks, trees, and columns block a shot (WOW, SWTOR.) The environment is treated like simple art and nothing more. It would be nice to see games once again embrace the idea that terrain matters during combat. Since EQN will be using destructible terrain they have an opportunity here. They did show some one blow a bridge while the enemy was crossing it during the game play reveal video... How far will they go with that I wonder?
Thank-you for making this topic, tkreep! This game is awesome, and I'm loving it. I really like the grab mechanic. There's so much experimenting with it. XD

lol I think the player is too high level for it, he was like level 98 plus it was on solo mode. Its more difficult in online mode
