Maybe I missed it, but I was shocked that there was not more revealed with EQN regarding Tablet/smart phone interactivity. I consider this cross-platform approach as crucial for newer MMO's. Yeah I know that WoW has an armory app for tablets and smart phones that allows you to chat with guild members and post/check auctions. I see that Final Fantasy is coming out with an app as well, but I don't know exactly what you'll be able to do with it.
It just seems to me with the abundance of smart phones and tablets that it should be a no brainer that newer MMO's should try to allow as much game-play functionality as they can on these devices. While it would obviously still be very difficult to have actual combat and group dynamics on tablets and smart phones, they should be trying to integrate whatever else they can.
I'm most familiar with WoW, as that was the last game I played extensively prior to taking my break and waiting for FF XIV.
Off the top of my head, all crafting should be accessible via smart phones/tablets. Chat functionality should extend beyond just guild members and to anyone on your friends list and to anyone in game if possible. WoW has the new pet battles and there is no reason those should not be accessible via smart phones/tablets. I don't see why in-town type quests (the kind that don't require combat) should not be playable on a smart phone/tablet.
These are what I come up with off the top of my head and I'm sure there are many other elements. People like to stay connected now days so I would think that interconnectivity would be something all MMO's would be striving for now. What do you all think?

There are full MMOs on tablet/small phone right now like Orders and Chaos, so it is doable.
