Could you rephrase that? Honestly had to check your profile to see if English was your 4th language.
Assuming you want PVP, EQN will have PVP....not sure what else you were getting at.
how many can you speak
English, Spanish, Medical, Geek/Nerd?
Not trying to be offensive, just having a hard time understanding what you are trying to get at.
well i for some have been not gas forever an truly chair together. but yes. u fool! i story made fries myself salmon pink. never free to be not river....u mad?
(that's my summary of the original post)
Laughter = great way to start the day, thank you
then stop being so hilarious bro....
Not sure if that rant was English, couldn't make out half of what was said.
I am a PvE Person. I like to group with friends whenever possible, Strangers if I have to, or solo some. I am not Great at PvP and I don't suck at it either. I just don't like PvP at all. That's My opinion.
On the other hand I believe that there should be PvP servers so they have their place too.
Every person thinks that the way they like to play is the way it SHOULD be played, but it's not always the case, otherwise PvP MMO's would outweigh PvE MMO's. Companies go with the Money. If you think money isn't the main goal of game companies, well that's just foolish.
every game should have both options on servers PvP and PvE, Maybe a Server with both too.
That's my opinion.
I'm not laughing at you. But I'm assuming you see the RED underlines under words before you click Post Message. At least fix your spelling and then work on putting words together in a way that others can understand, regardless of what language you speak. Heck, I'm sure I could use Google Translate to communicate clearly with someone on a Non-English site. Unless you've been drinking, then it makes sense.
I missed the 9 talk about dying. I did catch the 5 talk about tree falling. Are you a Blizzard employee? Will you bring back the info you gather to all WoW players? Would be good advertising.
I almost fell out of my chair when I read this.
Everquest in my humble opinion, more so than Ultima, was the first true visual mmoRPG. They should set the standard for true epic fantasy in the PvP arena. No more instanced battlegrounds or open pvp corn fields where Bob the ranger is trying to level.
To give my 2 cents on pvp - I have high expectations of the PVE part of EQN. I loved Vanguard, and though I have been spoiled on three realm RvR and separate and distinctly different races and classes in pvp (no copy past on either side of a battlefield)...I still have some hope that the devs at Sony will at least make an attempt this time around to produce something more than gang vs gang, rather guild vs guild pvp.
That aspect of pvp is so lazy in this day and age when considering Dark Age of Camelot pulled off tri realm pvp in 2001. They boast 44 classes and 24 races along three separate kingdoms/realms to level and raid in. Each realm has its own castle and towers, i.e., territory. This sort of thing is unheard of in literally every mmorpg on the block.
Dark Age raised the bar so high no one ever followed, but I can only hope they at least take a peek at what made that sort of pvp so much more likely to fit in stories by Tolkien and George RR Martin.
Imagine if Sony wrote the Lord of the Rings? Or Funcom, or Trion, ArenaNet and so forth? The hobbits would have never gotten out of the Shire, they would have been too busy in Elf Human Orc groups fighting other Human Hobbit Orc Elf groups.
Perhaps it's because I live in Chicago that I hate today's pvp model. I see gangs on the Southside of Chicago, each with a few blocks of turf, their own gestures and symbols. These gangs see each other as being so different...they have so many reasons to fight for a strip of light posts and an alley. But when I look at them, I just see the same disenfranchised minorities killing each other wholesale.
That's how I see today's pvp. Just little clicks of folks who aren't any different than anyone else. Nothing epic about gang bangery nothing epic about today's pvp no matter how much commercialism a company spews.
Pvp is just gang bangery these days - nothing epic about that. The worst part about that sort of pvp is the player base thinks this is as good as it gets - they have felt Guild pride, but never Realm pride. There's never a real sense of us vs them vs them in these games...it's just Us vs Us.
Sad, really.
I thought this thread Was PvE VS PvP. All I see is a rant about PvP content in EQN.
I could be missing something with the language limitations here. I'm not trying to make fun of it but 1/4 to 1/2 makes no sense.
and just because there is 0 talk about PvP, doesn't mean there isn't going to be PvP, just hasn't talked about it in depth.
This is a PvE game with elements of PvP thrown in after the fact.
Like Most Games
My fear exactly and while my heart wishes the best for the EQ family, I find it sad that if this is the case, that after all these years they still don't get what EPIC means.
It sure as hell isn't beating up a Pixel in a dungeon. A lot of us in my time grew up on Dungeons and Dragons. Games like EQ, Asheron's Call and Ultima, were built for us, not for the text talk savy FPS players that flooded the battlegrounds of every modern mmo video game.
We sat with paper and pencils, dice in hand and so forth (old days for you youngins) and we had a living, breathing HUMAN challenge in the mind of the dungeon master that ran our games. That's how it's meant to be folks. Pve is icing on a cake and has its fun place, but PvP, once brought to a level of advanced nation vs nation warfare can be so fkn epic you cannot imagine. Make PvP mean something more than just someone being griefed in a corn field, and a lot of the die hard EQ fans who have seen how crappy pvp is, will begin to realize it CAN be so much better (those folks that played Dark Age of Camelot know exactly what I'm referring to).
Build it, Sony, and they will come...just build it well, for god's sake.
i find your thesis bland and not enjoyale... and my idea of pvp death sould mean more than hideing in stormwind
I just had a thought about the original poster, Techninez (That's Tech Nine, as in the machine gun and Rap artist of similar name?)...the way he or she types (assuming he)...what if...
Bear with me...what if techninez is an orc? Think about it! And I quote, "...if you die but f*** you if ther 7 miion wow plateyts wanting too know. and if you thought we wasnt watching we was........." definite orc ending.
My god, we have trolls on this forum (I've been guilty in my defense of real pvp...) and now we have ORCS!!!!
PvP games on their own tend to do poorly, at least in the western world"
Shadowbane was amazing, but pve was just a means to an end, pvp, city building, destructable walls and buildings...but not enough to keep the game going.
Mortal Online: I don't want to be rude, but ouch to this pvp game...another very tiny niche audience.
Darkfall: Same as the above.
It's the balance between pvp and pve that really can make a difference. A few server variations as well to appease the loot and kill everyone people would be nice as well as a pure pve server.
A perfectly built concept should be three servers, perhaps four:
1. Purely pve server
2. Purely pvp server
3. A mix of both 1 and 2
4. An RP variation
Everyone gets to play EQNext, and nearly everyone is pleased...what's so hard about that?
RP? who cares if the game is not out , i know what side im on
PvP makes More Money than PvP???????
PvE makes more money. That's why the Market is flooded with it. Like it or Hate it, Look at WoW. the Biggest MMO to date. PvP is a niche crowd. A big Niche, but still a Niche Crowd. They have games that are successful, But not the Top Money makers.
