No early access for v1.0 people..really?

XaradasXaradas Member Posts: 37

So I know that people will gripe about, "Oh you are getting a free copy of the game so don't complain!", however, we are not getting a free copy of the game, we are getting what we paid for 3 years ago.....Oh and the game back then was much more expensive especially for us v1.0 CE buyers. ( Original CE 129.99, Standard 79.99 from Gamestop ).

I think the v1.0 crowd deserves Early Access, at the very least the collectors do....I just want to play Friday and not have to wait any longer...I was having so much fun....

Ugh...... The 1.0 people do get Early Access as well as the new Digital Collectors Edition Items (Courel Mount), and free 14 days to play the game. The only thing it is though you have to be registered as a Legacy member!

There were emails sent to you account E-mail that stated you had to be registered to receive your status!

Below is where we can disscuss and come up with new ideas for Sandparks!

You already got early access during the original release and most 1.0 players have characters with jobs, gear, levels, etc - you're already well established.

Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.

As I heard (and yes, this is heresay) - legacy players get the early access.  Legacy defined as 60-90 day subscription purchases.

This is definitely not the same game we purchased 3 years ago......

Most Legacy players are starting over, the game is so drastically different that its better to start from day 1 and just build up with all the new content (seeing how v1.0 had NO CONTENT). Also- No, we did not, people who say that obviously never played v1.0 and thus do not understand our frustration.

I have all those e-mails, they all state that you do infact get the new Digital CE, you get the welcome back trial, however,  no early access is mentioned at all.

Look again, this is what we were suppose to get 3 years ago, not what we got, even SE said so themselves.

Hmm i see good points from both sides lol, that's a first.

I think you do get early access, but to me it makes no sense as  being legacy, what is there to an early access, you already have years of a head start and have had plenty of free game time as well.It does not bother me either way,if/when i rejoin the game,i will be going for a noob server not legacy anyhow.I think it makes MORE sense to give anyone who did not get more than one month game time in from version 1 and did not take advantage of free game time, but i still see no problem rewarding all those who stuck by the game and supported it in some fashion.

I think i have sort of set my mind on waiting for Steam.no need to worry about ruined discs,i will get a good deal on price and probably also some bonus item that will be unique to the game. The only bummer to starting late is the auction house will be swamped with wares meaning prices will drop badly by time i try to make any currency.

Yes and no... The 1.0 key works so it is the same game. But when it comes to game-play it's quite different.

@OP. I agree with you. We paid more than the game is sold for now. I have the habit to keep invoices of games I buy and I paid €35 back then. Now the new ARR I can buy for €25 at the same store >:( The least SE could do is give is the same rights as the ARR pre-orders and allow early accecss and 30 days instead of the lousy 14 we get now

The fact that I pre-ordered the original CE for about twice as much as it costs right now (I also had to pay shipping fees because they weren't selling it in my country) and that I will not be granted an early access now is... stunning.

I really hope SE simply overlooked this and will actually give us early access as well.

I don't plan on ever playing my Legacy character again, with how different the game is I'd rather start new to take in the whole world one adventure at a time. I'm not asking for the free month either, I understand they need that burst of income from us with the subs, but come on....they can't give us early access after sticking by the game for so long?

I would be fine with just the early access, I would love the 30 days but I'm not as bothered by that as I mentioned above in another response. I feel as we paid more and waited longer for this the least they could do is give us early access.

Allow me to enlighten you of something.

Just because you own and played FFXIV V1.0 YOU ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY LEGACY CAMPAIGNED

In order to be considered Legacy Campaigned status ( Not to be confused with characters that are legacy ) you had to actually pay 3 months of game time at the end of the initial close (that was at the end of v1.0's life, they had it open for subs for a short time in which you could sub.)  Next time, at least RESEARCH before replying.

    Hello fellow 1.0 non-legacy C.E holder,

Preorder the ps3 version. You get a preorder code. I am unaware of game stores near you, but I got mine from GameStop. Preorder codes give you early access and the preorder goodies. If you decide to purchase the ps3 version and register it on your account I have heard you get an additional 30 days, like new owners. Don't quote me on that.

I don't think we should have to buy another copy is my other problem...can you elaborate on that though? I buy PS3 Version, plug the pre-order code into my main windows account and then can play on either system for the same account?

    1) Entitled to having people help with something that should be apparent and easily researchable.

    2) Entitled to (apparently) EVERY version of FF XIV, free time, AND early access?

The world owes you so much, it seems.

And I only got 'rude' after you told me to research before replying!  I did the research FOR YOU and you still weren't happy with the answer, AND put words in my mouth.

I owe you nothing but the worst attitude i can give at this point.  Learn to read, learn to be humble, learn that the world doesn't owe you things, and lastly-- LEARN THAT OTHER PEOPLE REPLYING WITH ANSWERS, and YOU still QQ'ing, is pretty rude.  I owe you LESS than nothing at this point.

You can use PS3 and PC for the same character/account and swap between the method of choice freely. I don't feel we should have to either, but we do, nothing we can do about it. We are still getting the 2.0 CE stuff for free. And you only need to preorder the version for a preorder code. I don't plan on purchasing my reserved copy. $5 preorder at GameStop got me the code and I can go back and cancel the preorder later and get my money back. Not the same for everywhere though, so be careful.

I believe WE the v1.0 holders are entitled to Early access, you obviously can't comprehend what I have been saying this entire time. I'm fine with not getting 30 days of game time, I think its crap we don't get the early access though.

As for "Entitled to having people help with something that should be apparent and easily researchable."  You are the only one here acting entitled, and acting as if everyone else's opinions are wrong and stupid, and the audacity of me asking a question of someone who was sharing some knowledge to elaborate while I was trying to find it on the internet...I'm such a entitled terrible person, my apologies.

Check your receipt before you leave the store for the code. They don't always put it on there. I had to go back and tell them there should be a code.

THIS is what I have a problem with, it should go to ALL v1.0 players.

Grow up and stop being rude.

No, it really shouldn't. You are getting a free copy of the new game. Your character data has been copied over. If you had the 1.0 CE you get those items again. Plus in addition the items from ARR CE. You have been properly compensated for your loss. You didn't like the game.

Are you just not getting how "self entitled" your post makes you sound. I mean honestly it sounds like someone who owns a Corolla 2008 or something.  Finding out there is a factory recall.  Then demanding they be upgraded to a Camry 2013.

You have no real reason for being given Early Access other then you believe it is what you deserve when it isn't. There are people that actually stuck with the game flaws and all. It's a reward for people that stuck around. It's a reward for people that pre-order the new game.

    In Death - Sacrifice.

Seriously-- people posted the info, and you weren't happy with the answer.

I posted a link, and said "at least listen to those replying, or learn 2 google."  Fair response, considering you framed this as an objective inquiry.

Next time, maybe title the thread in such a way as to convey that it is about what you feel you deserve, rather than tricking people into trying to help you find an answer, then brow beating them for it.

You really should read the OP so you don't get confused. Perhaps I should have taken off the "really?" at the end to make it more clear that it was a rhetorical question or used a  /rant at the end. The belittling and insulting and everything else you did was much appreciated though, you could have posted the information and been done with it but you gotta add in those jabs right?
