Are Halflings mentioned at all in the new lore?

Just curious... Hope they find their way into EQN :)

As from the lore we have now Halflings and gnomes are not there. I would say check out the 2 ebooks at the EQ:N web site.

I have not read anything that mentions them but find it hard to believe them and gnomes will not be in EQN

Short people got good reason to smile.  Unless they're not included in the game.  In which case there will be no short people to have reason to smile.  And that would make me sad.  I like short people.

If they really are using a true action combat system (rather than the hybrid it has appeared to be at points) then I would be worried if half pint races were included. How many PVP players would roll the shortest, smallest, toon they could to take advantage of the targeting system? PVP would look like old school midget wrestling or crazier than a Norn on a GW2 jumping puzzle.

They could easily just follow TERAs lead and have universal size hit boxes. Or they could balance that as a strength of the race to counter lacking fortitude.

Don't forget this game will be F2P. Look for a release free of gnomes and asslings but they will make a triumphant return at a later date via the cash shop!  I bet they will even tie it in with the new super duper smart AI. Gnomes are too smart to not be paid for in a cash shop? Makes about as much sense as "mobs are too smart to have a tank and healer" argument.

You know what is a shame..  Given that the game is starting from NEW.. I think it would be great if when you created your toon, you are born in one of "X" starting camps..  Each race that is in the game will have their "Rally Call" to build their home city..  So in sense you have multiple Rally Calls going on at the same time.. So if you have 10 starting races, you have 10 Rally Calls from the start..  Some cities will probably be built faster then others depending on player race population..  NO quick travel either.. If you as a Human were born in the Freeport camp, and helped build Freeport into a city, you have no clue, nor have you discovered other races, but only heard rumors about them..  Sure you heard about something called trolls to the south, but only if you travel there, will you bump into them.. Grobb might be a camp , or a city too.. You won't know until you go exploring.. Then maybe if Grobb is still only a camp working on their Rally Call, you can opt to disrupt it, or keep on exploring the world.. OR run back to Freeport telling everyone what you learned..

Rumor has it that little races, fat races and ugly races didn't make it through focus testing at SOE.

Ha Ha Ha.. more like SOE devs couldn't figure out a way to get a gnome to do a saddle jump over a fence, so they had to be cut.. LOL
