PLEASE NOTE: the pvp here still not reflect the pvp in release, as the pvp skills/gear and progression with points not implemented yet, the dev just wanted to check latency between players and damage range.

not really interested in arena pvp for this game. But it's good to see it there.

I'm very interested in that it has a completely separate skill unlock system / progression and unique gear.

Probably be a required thing to gear and "level" up before Frontlines PvP comes out in later months.

I hate to say it, but the setup, arena, and everything looks very similar to WoW's Arena PvP.

That being said, I am not a fan of Arena pvp anyways, but don't get me wrong I LOVE pvp.  Just not arena pvp where epeens flare and people get uber pissed off at each other.  Elitism at it's finest.

Just not for me, but for those who enjoy, I am glad it is there for you!

This aspect of mmos has never interested me. Doesn't look like thats gonna change with FFXIV.

you know the best thing about it. it is not linked to anyway to any other element of the game except frontlines which is PVP as well. It has completely different skills and gear along with ranks.

 

I am honestly more excited for frontlines which is a massive scale RvRvR pvp , but for this arena, I plan to gear up and be ready for frontline patch

As far as different skills for pvp....Does that mean my class will be totally different in pvp? or just tweak damage and timers a bit??

IN 6 months, after you've given them  6x13     about $100 i bet you could buy a cap character account in 6 months for 100 bucks and you'd have 6 months of life back, and still be ready for the RVR whether it sucks or doesn't suck.  If it sucks, you're out a 100 bucks. but you still got that 6 months of life back where you could of been enjoying the holiday's, going on vacations, instead of being a pve carebear doing arena's with cookie cutter groups and character setups. YAWN

it will be totally different from what I have read. but they also said you get new points on every rank for different gear or skills, so I do not know how will this work but I am sure it will be something solid and reek of quality.

this game has more to offer then pvp and I am a proud pve carebare too, I enjoy every facet in this game. Aion pve war crap, GW2 pvp was crap, Only Dota has solid pvp for my taste but the fact is, this game has quality PVE and probably quality PVP since Yoshida was hardcore DAOC player and top ranked pvper, so my hopes are good.

Sure Arena sux for many, but this game is about all the elements fitting together rather then one big quality while other elements are fillers.

If video games to you means not having a social life then something is wrong. You should be able to do both, and also what your suggesting is more than likely against ToS and will result in a permaban for that account if they find out. This is a horrible suggestion. Also $78=/$100, your more than 20% off.

Actually, I think you are the one that is mistaken. 

Cookie Cutter:  Appearing to be mass-produced; identical in appearance.

I think that he was saying is that parties will all be the same - there will be no variance.  Same old boring set ups every time.  In that way, his sentence does make sense.  I'm not actually sure what he means by that and I disagree with him - with the number of classes and skills available in the game, I think it will be interesteing.  

But in this case, you called him out on grammar, when in fact you aren't correct.  Further, why are you trying to make him look stupid.  The only time I see people arguing a point by using insults and changing the subject is if they can't argue the point in the first place.  Not a good position.
