Hi.
I've never seen the crafting system like this. My guild already organized some crafting parties - each has 8 members and we cooperate each other. This is very important thing because it's almost impossible to be self-sufficient crafter. Look at this picture:
"As an example, were I trying to be a self-sufficient Armorer, I face a pretty Herculean task keeping supporting professions up to speed. In addition to armorer, I would need to also level up Blacksmith for my tools, Leatherworker and Weaver for my clothing (I double dip with leatherworker since they also provide a high demand intermediate good), Goldsmith for my jewelry, Mining for ore, Carpentry for lumber, and Botany for the logs to make lumber. That’s seven supporting professions just to keep my armorer advancing."

I hope it will be useful to someone new. Cheers!

Thanks for linking this. Very helpful info. I am very much looking forward to the meta game here.
Look i get you're excited about the game, i am too. I thoroughly enjoyed what i saw during open beta and i preordered and will be in early access. But please don't make remarks like this. It'll just bring negative attention to the game with the haters coming in throngs and nobody wants that.
The crafting system in this game is BY ABSOLUTELY FAR the best i have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. But it is not like its complex by any means, just interactive. And its not like its hard to be self sufficient either.
Like your example of having to level blacksmith for tools. That's just silly. You get tools from class quest and you can merely just buy tools from marketplace or npcs. It's stupid to keep a whole entire profession up to date just so you can craft your own tools.

While I didn't get too in-depth with the crafting system I noticed that you can only buy basic low-level materials and tools from the venders.
This is one of my observations - Maybe midlevel crafting and onwards will depend entirely on other crafters since the NPC bought materials and tools will help players get to that point and are left to themselves onwards. But thats just speculation on my part, the game is less than a week away we will just see for ourselves
Sure, you can buy tools but not HQ. I think the HQ tools will be very important in the end-game to make a HQ gear.
obviously you cant buy HQ tools from npcs but my point was its not like you -have- to have HQ tools to be successful crafter. and it still stands no reason to level blacksmithing yourself to be "self-sufficient" just for the sake of having the best tools when you can easily just buy whatever tool for your appropriate profession(s) from other players or just settle npc bought ones or the ones you get every 5 levels from class quests.
