Hi all,
Does anyone know if square enix has paypal support
Because i've been looking into the documentation for the subscription model for FFXIV ARR and all I can find is that you buy crysta with your credit card and then use that to pay your subscription fee
But as far as I can tell it says that crysta is only supported in NA, JP and certain EU zones, since I live in Australia and don't own a credit card and don't have any experience purchasing from square enix online I don't know how I am going to pay for my subscription fee short of purchasing 60 day game cards which are over priced in Australian game stores
Can anyone shed any light on this, by sharing their experiences because I played in the open beta and I enjoyed my time in game and would like to experience more
Greatly Appreciate it

Hey OP,
i do not have a link for you - as i am not sure where i saw it, but i am pretty sure i saw a post from SE saying that they will "unvail" the payment method 2-3 weeks after launch. i think that if you had the original 1.0 you pay something like 5$ a month, and if you haven't its more or less like WoW - 13-15$ a month - depends if you pay in advance one month, three months or six.
hth
Just my 2 cents...
I don't know if crysta is supported in your region, but in the NA region you can purchase it using paypal through ultimatepay I think the service is called. the option should be there in your square enix account in thier account management page.
SE certainly aren't doing themselves any favours with their administartion processes.
They have arguably the most complex procedure ever invented just to get into the Early Access before the launch. There are 2 different codes required for registering the game and for getting into Early Access. These codes are specific to either Japan, NA or the EU. There are different codes for PC or Playstation versions of the game. I don't think they could have made it more complex if they tried !
This complicated process creates many opportunities for errors, and inevitably we are seeing plenty of errors being reported. NA players receiving codes only valid for the EU and vice versa. PC players receiving codes for Playstation editions and vice versa. Players not receiving codes. Retailers that are messing-up the whole process.
Once you have successfully negotiated the registration hurdle (which I have not been able to do as yet for various reasons), you then start on the second part of the epic: Actually paying for your subscription !
Afaik, the actual sub cost is not completely clear yet. The payment methods aren't clear yet. Rumour has it that you have to buy SE "game currency" and then use THAT to pay your actual game sub.
The biggest challenge in FFXIV:ARR is not getting a maxxed-out character, it's being able to log into the game !
This page should give you the info you need:

You can already buy crysta that will be used to pay for subscription,
i advice people to do so before the game goes online and the site will become overflooded with people.
I'm going to break this down as best I can. I'll leave legacy out because I don't know the details because I'm not legacy :P.
Payment option: 1. Crysta Basically buy them and then you can use them towards a subscription. Not sure on the exact details because it seemed liked a pain imo).
2. credit card (Just like any other mmo. Discounts for prepaying and all that jazz. 2 plan levels, $14.99/mo (up to 8 characters per a server with a character limit of 40), $12.99/mo (1 character per a server with up 8 total characters).
3. Pre-paid cards. Not sure the specifics on this I imagine they will offer a months game time but may offer longer times as well. All we know is they are coming.
So no paypal sadly unless you can find a way to buy crysta or the pre-paid cards with ti.
>Go to https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/login?cont=account
>Login to account managment
>Click add crysta
>Choose value
>Click Ultimatepay
>Choose Payment Provider (Creditcard, Paypal, Moneybookers, ukash, ultimategamecard, paysafecard, Regional payment options (i.e. Ideal, German Direct Debit etc))

>Done
P.S In some countries you can even pay by making a phone call to a payed number with the service Daopay, if all else fails.
