Beta client file transfer

I have the open beta client on my old laptop.  I got a new desktop, so in theory, could I just copy the entire beta client installation folder onto an external hard drive then transfer it onto my new desktop?  (instead of waiting for the headstart email to download?)

Is there anything I would need to transfer over besides what is in the installation folder? (c:>program files (x86)>square enix>ff)

 

(I read online the open beta client is the same as the go live client)

You could try but I doubt it will work, there is probably stuff in the registry that would need to be on your new computer

Probably is safer to just install it normally, eary start isn't until the 24th so there is plenty of time to download it.

yeah it would probaly workl but not be properly installed could cause problems later, just download the client its already ready for downloading

If you used the client from phase 4 you won't need a new one. Not everyone who bought the game already has the client, that's why they give a link for it when you buy it.
