Greets folks.
I thought I'd post this to give players who are linkshell shopping a chance to find themselves a new home before the weekend. During the open beta last weekend, I formed the Veterans of Valkurm with my brother on the Ultros server. Ultros is, obviously, the best server, given that it's named after one of the best villains of the entire franchise. We recruited 25 members, and formed a nice foundation for a successful guild in the future. Let me give you a little rundown on our linkshell.
1) Who are the Veterans of Valkurm?
We're players who met in beta, many of whom have played together before. As the name suggests, it's mostly FFXI veterans, and we've since migrated into 14 for the long-term. If you're a veteran, or a newbie, there's a spot for you here; we've got a fountain of knowledge readily available amongst our members, ranging from active legacy players to seasoned beta veterans to brand new players. Use your resources in the shell, and provide what knowledge you can as well!
2) What are our goals?
We're an advancement + social shell. The emphasis of this shell will NOT be raiding, but rather, helping each other level our combat classes and crafting classes. At the same time, we want to build comradery with players who are here for the long haul, not necessarily the current "flavor of the month" MMORPG. While I also have created the free company, the free company will serve as a voluntary extension, rather than a mandatory requirement, for the players who are interested in raiding and end-game progression. A good community is important, and I'm looking to create that foundation of friendly, helpful, positive players before I'm trying to dictate raids. We also strive to reduce reliance on the duty finder by recruiting a few more members so that we can intra-linkshell party more frequently. This will help gear ourselves up even better, complete dungeons a little easier, and reduce queue times for everyone involved. We're looking for roughly 15-20 more members.
3) Are there any rules?
Unlike many other shells, we don't have an attendance requirement. If you can play 2 hours a day, than you can play 2 hours a day. If you want to drop 15 hours a day in the game, than by all means, drop 15 hours a day! All that I require is that you're both friendly/helpful, and willing to help fellow shell members. If someone has a question and you know the answer, take a minute and tell them! If you're a level 30 smith, and someone is willing to send you some materials to build them some gear, this shouldn't be a big problem. If you've got some spare materials and another shell-mate needs a few, then help them out. We set this standard in open beta, and it helped multiple members take their crafts to a cap within a few hours. The result is a very well-equipped, well-leveled shell, which means we're functioning better as individuals and as a whole. This is all I'm asking for here. Negativity is essentially your only way out of the shell; things like spewing hate in the /shout channel, raging, or instigating drama will not be tolerated.
If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me this Saturday. My in-game name is Cymdai Cyrex, and I'd be happy to provide all the information I have available.
If this sounds like an organization you'd be interested in, comment on this thread. I look forward to seeing all my fellow Ultros players in game!

Also! I forgot to mention. We're NOT looking to become massive. 40-50 people is the absolute largest I'd like to go... any more than that makes running an FC/LS a second job, and I'd prefer not to get into that.
