A Computer Problem

Hey, I got a problem with my comp at my hose. When i log on, its all good til it shows my screensaver (Beetles) and all the icons, but then like 3 secounds after it frezzes and i cant get on. If you got an answer to my problem reply please. ( My uncle works on computers and could fix it but he cant get out to my house soon and he is in Bosten for work.)

I'm assuming you have WinXP Pro, simply right click the desktop, click properties, click screensavers, choose None.  Screensavers are practically useless, they don't use less power or lower the wattage on your pc.

While you are at it go back to properties part, then click the settings tab, click advanced, then click monitor, if it says 60 hertz change that to 75 hertz.  I hope you are usin Winxp...

The only problem is that i cant do anything before my comp freezes, and the beetle background is sweet .

I just tried it, but it froze before i was able to get to it . No air is coming out of my compuer fan, could this be the problem. The comp is all working fine til it just freezes in the middle of nowhere.

 

Help me PLEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz

Yeah try and see if you cant get the fan working or buy a new one. Also try and get into safe mode by pressing F8 while booting up and turn off the screen saver. Good luck

maybe it is crashing due to a overheating problem? never happend to be so i dont know if the comp shuts down or crashes.

If you haven't updated your windows lately you might need that.  Critical updates are what keeps your pc running good.  How to do that is open your browser, click tools, click windows update and the rest is self explainitory.

Hey, Last time i did 1 of the windows updates, my computer got stuck on the Welocme to Windows sign lol. I am gettin a new fan soon, and will see if that can get it to work

I was using a box fan for cooling my system once but I decided to chuck the crappy case with 60mmm cheap fans and get a a new one. my sig has the connections.

I once had a box fan to cool my computer, but then the fan had a melt down or something but it blew up my CPU. So i stopped using box fans. it was a sad, sad day, the day my computer died.
