Does the "play" button automatically get activated?

Question as in the title.

In some games, you need either restart the launcher otherwise you can't enter, while some "auto-update" without restarting launcher when it is possible to enter.

 

So the question is: now that I've logged in at the launcher and see a greyed-out "play" button, will the "play" button automatically get clickable when the servers go onine?
