What does everyone think of it?

I usually wouldnt like a game where everything is instanced, a static world and levels, infact thats the exact obvious of my dream game, but I took my chances and bought Guild Wars anyways. Man, was it a great decision. I can honestly say I am having fun playing and not endless grinding. Every instance has amazing detail, unlike most MMORPGs with just huge fields with monsters strewn everywhere. Every mob is planned along the roads and stuff. I am really having a good time with it. I don't think it will last 5 years or longer like some (Ultima Online, etc) but for now it is very fun.

the only problem I see with the game is when you start a 2nd character once youve gotten to 20 with your first guy. Repetition might be an issue with people but I really enjoy the PvP option of starting a level 20 character right off the bat and get right into the heart of the game.

I just picked up today, the game has made a lot of improvements since some of the first Beta's ive played in. There is a tiny bit of lag, but its not much. Graphics are great, but i get some disappearing trees from time to time (not that it matters much anyways). I cant wait to get to some of the higher level missions, im still in Old Ascalon, but its not as much of a problem since the enviroments are just beautiful. Great launch though!

I bought it 2 days ago.
I played 2 hours, then I came back playing EVE.

Yesterday I started playing GW, but after 1 hour I switched to EVE.

Today I had in mind to dedicate my day off to play GW..........guess what.......yes you get it.......I played EVE the whole day.

I am really trying to like this game, because I think it is well done, but quite frankly it doesn't have soul.
I don't find the reason to play it

And if you are wondering, I am not an EVE fanboy, in fact SCI-FI is not even my favourite genre.
GW is just Diablo 2 big brother, and I never liked Diablo 2 either.

Well...from an achiever point of view...it seem FAST to be done.

That is why I always say...I can go buy GW tomorrow, dont wanna go to the mall today...Many players like a LONG progression to be earned, in every aspects, levels, gear, AAs.  Where it mean something to be level 20, 50 or 200.

I would not care if there would be faster XP earning servers and slowers, but fasters could lack some features or options, nothing major lacking there, but just the little something that will make me say, okay, I will do it.  Yet someone very casual could stick to fast land and be done in 3 hours...yet never seeing some stuff I do...no need to be much, just the little tiny thing(not even in stats).

I will buy it...but I feel there is no rush to buy it, anyway, I will be done before the week is over.  image

I've been playing this game since Thursday now and i really like it, ive ot into it well and i think i'm hooked but its definately not without it's faults.

For example when taking out a party (NPC Characters) it annys me that they get a share of the Gold and Experiance Points, i mean WHAT THE HELL FOR its not like there going to use it, especially the gold.  Which leads me onto my next thing Gold, i'm not sure if it's just me but i'm having a really hard time getting gold together i can never seem to get enough of it.

Also weapons i haven't really found any good weapons on my travels yet atm i'm lvl 10 and i'm still using the same War Hammer i was using at level 5.

Now the good things, the AI is great especially for the NPC's you can hire to make a team they never get stuck and always keep up.  The landscapes are brilliantly detailed and IMO rivals graphics of pretty much any gam ive seen.

75% of the quests and missions are available AFTER you hit lvl 20.  lvl 20 is where the game starts so you don't have to worry about it being repetitive.
