servers just undergo emergency maintenance within hours of early access, without any in game announcement beforehand, imagine when the game fully released

No it is not to late to pre-order. I pre ordered mine last night at game stop. And your early access code is on the gamestop receipt friend
That happened one time. Not a big deal. The game went live for early access 8 hours ago.
Just try and relax man.
From what my friends told me there WAS an in game announcement, quit lying.
They've gone down for emergency maintenance because the instance servers for the duty finder seem to be bugged. Hardly anything unusual. They even gave us a 3hr time frame which is more than many do.
if the game sucked the servers would be holding up to the massive amounts of people trying to play
Since I'm a fucking idiot I bought the game 5 minutes ago instead of ''never playing MMOs again!''.
I bought it from the SE store and got an email saying ''You don’t need to do anything now. We’ll email you again near the time that the Early Access starts with the next steps.'' but since it already started I'm not sure what to do now. Just wait?
The game seems to be already attached to my account so not sure if I need a code or anything.
Nope got mine this morning , took about 25 mins for the code to come through and 70 mins to download.

It's not too late but good luck actually getting the game setup to play, and then good luck actually getting to play.
My brother tried to pre order last night. SQEN store wasn't working for squat so he went thru Amazon. You can get that first 16 digit code easily enough. But since the process for getting this game rolling is worse than doing taxes, you then need another 20 digit code from the ultra inept SQEN, and that's where you'll be screwed. Their pre order registration has been down more than up all week and is in even worse shape right now. SQEN seems incapable of even sending emails - something that's pretty damn simple to orchestrate. Their websites are weak, you have to hop around and create logins a few times, it's overall a lame experience to. Fortunately - the launch and game itself are not as idiotic.
The are officially warning people that service could be spotty - during live release - and that you might be denied service, queued, etc. Somewhat par for the course - brand new hyped games often have these issues - but it feels incredibly worse with SQEN and their communication is pretty weak.
So yeah, it's not too late, and good luck.
PS - What's comical to me is that the game has 20 levels of the easiest of ez-mode "tutorial" but to buy the game you will need patience, endurance, intelligence, puzzle/problem solving, etc, and other traits suited to being hard core.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.
I'm in the same boat mate, I bought the game today and I have the same email as you. Waiting for the next "this is how to play early access" one. 4/5 hours waiting now.
