Want to buy the game, but ?

in Final Fantasy XIV

I want to get the game. pretty sure I can still get in early access thru amazon, but I'm concerned about actually getting into the game.  I've read a few posts that state the have early access codes from various sites but that Square Enix isn't giving thiers out over the weekend.  Anyone know if this is true ?

    I can't even order the game thru their site. They seem to have issues. I think I will wait until the 27th and try again.

    What is the reason anyway to start "early"? I can do the same things then that I could now.

     

    I'll just avoid the mess they are having atm. :)

    the problem with the website and the game are all due to the extreme traffic they're getting.

    If you have the patience to, then I would advise waiting.  They were not prepared for the server loads today and it is venturing into Diablo 3 territory for launch day shenanigans.

    There was was a very underestimated interest in the game on Square Enix's part, if you can wait till the 27th do so, it should be sorted out by then.

    If you already know you are going to buy it, you lose nothing getting it now. You don't pay anything for early access and if you get to mess around for a day (maybe we will have 0 issues tomorrow) then why not?

    I got mine in 15m or so, downloaded in 75m, and after figuring out the shitfest of a login system (and the part where it gave me a arbitrary user ID which is what it wants, not one I choose either via email or specified name) was up and running easily. My connection to Cactuar at least was stable.
