any suggestions what server i should pick? im located in chicago area and im getting some bad lagg on n/a server. any suggestions for a decently pinged server with lots of ppl to play with?:P

Im from the Chicago land too. I am playing on the server Behemoth
Come to Leviathan, where a kid can be a kid.
Also home to the greatest guild in FFXIV:ARR; Phoenix Reborn! PhxRb tag. If any of them are seeing this, my gaming comp has a fried motherboard and will be repaired soon. I miss you heathens.
Honestly you can't really go wrong picking any server as FFXIV is full of a very diverse group of players and each server is seeming to have its own niche which is awesome. I will suggest a few.
Balmung: Imo, the nicest people I have met are on this server, super helpful and great community vibe, but expect to get razzed a bit if you pick a non-roleplaying name like Chuck Norris or Poopin Sticks as they are pretty serious about lore and the roleplaying environment. Pretty heavy roleplay server, also though great community server.
Cactuar: I would categorize this server as the freaks and geeks server, serious some very interesting individuals here and i'm not ever really sure what to expect as they seem a bit eccentric and random, very interesting group...indeed.
Gilgamesh: ClusterF server, honestly, this is the server where everyone and their grandpa seem to be going, WoW refugees, Reedit community and many many different communities mixed into a big pot. This is the server to be on imo if you want the most diversity all around from roleplaying to casual to people named Chuck Norris, Cloud Strife or Bartholomew Lionheart. Imo this is the best starter server to get your feet wet until you decide exactly how you want to play.
Leviathan: My personal server. Alot of Final Fantasy junkies here that are more along the lines of the Playstation generation. This is imo the server for gaming gamers, no real rules to speak of but all is welcome though gaming is flavor of the day and talking about it and living and breathing it are the main focus, crackheads...maybe (I jest), but one thing is for sure the people on this server kick some ass and enjoy doing it.

In Lake Geneva here and haven't had issues on Leviathan. But they're all in the same datacenter so it probably won't make much difference honestly.
