multiclass info is hard to find :(

I've been looking for info on multiclassing and im having a hard time finding a good resource. I found some articles, but all they really say is "yea you can multiclass" with no details.

How exactly does multiclassing work here and what are the limitations? Can I be a paladin with a summoner pet? Can I open with a mage nuke then melee a mob normally? Are there gear restrictions? Am I able to use skills from multiple classes at once or do I have to deliberately and slowly switch between classes/gear?


If anyone has a link to a good resource that explains the options, features and limitations I'd be grateful

Under Skills, however it doesn't tell you what combines them to make the jobs however I know a couple

30 Gladiator + 15 Conjurer = Paladin

30 Pugilist + 15 Lancer = Monk

30 Archer +  15 Conjurer = Bard

30 Lancer + 15 Pugilist = Dragoon

30 Marauder + 15 Gladiator = Warrior

You can only be on class at a time.  You can't make a new class.  However you can borrow specific skills from other classes.  They're normally things like cure and stuff which would be useful on other classes not ultimate nukes.  Your current class is based on your weapon.  To make it easy to switch you can save gear sets.

Then there are jobs which give you more specific roles.  While you can still borrow skills from other classes you can only borrow from 2 specific classes instead of them all.  This is because Jobs are meant for parties and thus need to fill a party role instead of trying to be jack of all trades.

So no you can't be a pally with pet.  But you can be a tank with a nuke.

There are certain abilities that can be used as cross class abilities, not all of them.

One nice thing regarding the gear switching is they have gear loadouts you can save.

 

So you can be a pugilist, have all your pug gear on and save your pugilist gear setup.

 

Then switch to conjurer or something, wear all the conjurer stuff, then save that set up.

 

Then from then on it's easy to switch back and forth between gear without having to hunt down and equip 15 items.
