What makes this game stand out?

Hello everyone,

I really want to know, and I'm sure there are many others out there asking... what makes this game stand out? What makes this game worth the sub?

I played the beta for a few levels.. Did not seem too extraordinary. I don't see much in terms of PvP, which is a big seller for me. I did love FFXI, but I always wished there was better pvp.

I just don't understand what this game has, and there is not enough information on the main website to sell me. What end-game content is there? What will I be doing when I hit 50? I don't want this to be another play-and-quit within 30 days MMO.

Thank you.

You level another class damn it!  Actually the multi-class system is great imo.

    In depth crafting.

    Amazing story.

And, PVP will come eventually.  It's final fantasy though so I never see it being the games best point.

been following this forum for the past 2-3 weeks.  we had this discussion already a handful of times.  heres the threads.  this is just from the 22nd to now.  there were probably more before it.

Sorry these are just threads where someone is asking why in the OP.  There are tons of threads where someone just states why they like it as their OP, though those are too numerous to put up.  Just search the previous page threads.  tons of good info in there hehe.

IMPORTANT:  Please keep all replies to my posts about GAMING.  Please no negative or backhanded comments directed at me personally.  If you are going to post a reply that includes how you feel about me, please don't bother replying & just ignore my post instead.  I'm on this forum to talk about GAMING.  Thank you.

Combining some of the best features for multiple MMO's and putting it under one MMO. Doesn't require creating multiple characters to enjoy the game in its entirety but still gives people reason to make multiple characters if they want. A much better attempt at trying to please the audience.

Nothing really, there is nothing in this game with a hook that stands out. This mmo might be the blandest game I have ever played, they worship mediocrity. What amazes me is how they arranged the beginning experience. Even people who like the game admit that until lvl 15 or 20 it is the most boring experience they have ever had. I like games with a hook like TSW and TOR for its story or Tera and AOC for its combat, shadowbane or GW1 for its PvP. If you compare this game to a somewhat similar game Vanguard it loses in almost every respect. It only beats it in Graphics and that is because Vanguard is a years old game. I think people are so hungry for any mmo that they jump in with blinders on. If a game has crafting, questing, combat(no matter how boring it is), switch your classes every 10 lvls, some sand box elements (light very light) and a somewhat bland story they scream HALLELUJAH!

This is just to answer your question .However If people love it , more power to them. These boards are great for discussion, but if a game is fun to someone that is all that really matters.

The fact that the early access fails completely even though ARR was supposed to be the "REVISION" of 1.0. Early Access is a joke. Servers got owned because FFXIV didn't plan properly.

You talk on behalf of a lot of people you dont know. I like the game, and it is not the most booring experience during the starting levels. The cities are so big you are easily lost the first few hours. You have the multi-class system, the stylish crafting and harvesting, great story for the main quest (and I dont read the other quests, cause yes - there are alot of kill and fetch quests).

If you like it, keep on playing. If you you dont, I'm sorry this game may not be for you. Chances are that there are alot of other games catering to your tastes.

The servers got owned? Early access started at 2:00AM PST, took me until about 2:15AM to log in. Been playing all day. The servers were hardly "owned".

It's mainly a PvE game, and the game is much easier than FFXI. I'd say a lot easier. It's much more fun. It's got more grouping possibilies beyond people who are just two levels near you.

To me it's a nice breath of fresh air compared to most 'solo' based mmos that have come out in the last 10 years.

While you can level and progress solo the game definitely encourages grouping. There comes a point in the story quest where you have to find a group to advance, no exceptions. I think these kinds of game foster a more enjoyable atmosphere.

I got leathercrafter at lv13, carpenter at lv11, lancer at lv12, archer at lv9, conjurer at lv10, botanist at lv9.

I.e. nothing above lv15 yet and I've been enjoying the game so tremendously.

So you played during the 3 hours emergency maintenance? How did you do that? Why do you lie?
