Anyone else unable to log into the game, haven't been able to all morning, I heard there was 3am (est) maintenance but that should be over and done with.
They just took the servers back offline 30 minutes ago or so.
90000 and 10102 issues were causing problems.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
if by throttling you mean not letting anybody in then yeah.... they can at least bring back the que, I would be more then happy to sit in one for an hour or so then to just get the virtual hand to the face when I try to login

The queue is still there, it put me in it when they came back up before letting me in. Seems like they are only allowing so many ingame, so many in the queue then not letting anyone else even see the servers. It's all a bit weird.

Maybe the que is there for some, but for most it's just kicking them from the server instance.
I can't even see my characters at the moment, it won't even let me get that far. Just straight to Error: 1017
My patience is about run dry... I know to expect issues, but so many more for NA/EU than JP servers... Are we running different code or is the JP data center just THAT much better?

mine is teasing me with character selection before telling me the world is full
Obviously just way too many players and way too few servers. As a result, the players get screwed. Likely will be like this until they either expand the server infrastructure (including things like login server and instance networking/duty server) or, more likely, the rush dies down in a week or two. Very badly underestimated the demand, it seems.
I was Finally able to get into the game. Took me a while. The game kept giving me the world is full message over and over, and after logging off and on for a good while it put me in a queue
Oddly this last time I had a blank screen as though it was trying to populate my characters but within 30 seconds I got the 'world is full' message.
Since I didn't pick a character, how would the system know the world was full? Something else is going on. My bet its the lobby server + their routing server(s)
Somebody really messed up server sizes. The Duty server is way undersized and SE's solution is to allow fewer and fewer people to log into the world servers and actually play the game so it can handle the traffic. Queues are well into the triple digits now, and no one is actually going to log off if they can avoid it because they won't be able to get back in the game.
Letting fewer and fewer people play your game that you are just releasing is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. I guess they won't have to worry about server size problems when people have to pay subscription fees. Not many people are going to shell out money for a game they can't even play when they want to.
I think SE was caught off guard by the unsophisticated network infrastructure in the US (assuming that's where the data center is).
That makes no sense. The issue is with their architecture and how duty finder/instances work. They have a major point of congestion somewhere and apparently have no idea how to fix it other than severely limiting the number of people they are letting on the servers.

Yes because these problems are likely to last a long time.

Ignorant....ah I don't even know what to call you
Actually, without knowing exactly what the issue is with the Duty Finder, these issues could last a long time. It all depends on what is causing the bottleneck to happen. Is it hardware, software, network related, a bug in code, etc? Who knows, but considering so far they haven't come close to fixing it in 4 emergency maintenance downtimes - who knows how long it will last?

The point is that our network infrastructure BLOWS compared to the rest of the first world. If they bought the same server here, it would be significantly slower than a JP server using their infrastructure.
If they aren't familiar with our network capacities, it would lead to system bottlenecks. You know, the kind of issue we have right now.

LMAO!!

Apparently they found an error in the game after the last maintenance. Something about errors 90,000 and 1017.
They are now taking the servers down, again, to address these issues.
I get the "World is currently full" message for hours.
Guess I'll go back to GW2 and try again later.

Initially it was telling me it couldn't enumerate the NA/EU server list.
5 minutes later I saw my character but the server was full.
3 minutes later 'Lobby error'.
Now. I guess quiet tears for a few. lol
It seems like the whole deal went down again.
