Chasing FATEs: Dynamic Events

They are basically public quests that you do to get XP. But I've found most of the game boring except for FATEs. You get a ton of XP, and you don't have to be properly geared, you get to play with other people, fast easy, FUN, and exciting. I feel like if I'm a few levels behind or something I'll just chase FATEs to level up. Or if I'm bored.

What do you guys think, chase FATEs as a primary way to level up?

They're as equally viable has anything else in the game. I personally have been ignoring sidequests and just doing fates and hunting logs.

I personally hate fates. They are not fun for me at all, just feel like a zerg fest. It's extra hard to select people to heal in a fate, and its hard sometimes to get a spell off before the mob dies. Of course when the populations dies down a bit they will change, but I still don't expect them to be much fun. My favorite way to level up is from the leaf quests. Just my opinion.

Fates are good for GC seals to.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

How come you are willing to put so much effort and time in a game you find so boring? I'm just curious. If all you find fun is doing FATES, What is the point?  When I'm doing a FATE, I'm mostly seeing THM's Spam bliz II, thats not really fun( to me).

I'll admit it's good exp but won't be as reliable as people spread out since they won't pop up as often.

I would hardly call zerging as playing with other people.  I have managed to heal a few people who were getting mugged early in fates while in CNJ class - but that's about as interactive as it's been.  We were doing nearby FATEs while waiting for our instance to not happen and I did some unnecessary tanking for giggles.

I'm not sure I'd call FATEs boring but they're not all that compelling.

Mobs spawn out of thin air and the zerg massacres them til the progress bar fills.  Yawn.  Occasionally poop drops that you turn in...not that big of a wrinkle. Once in a while it's a boss mob with some health that takes longer to kill.  So far those bosses are basically harmless and are big target dummies.

As with most things in this game, it's do next to nothing for easy xp.

Compared to the event system in GW2 it is extremely generic and primitive so far.  No chains and no really interesting events.  Just vanilla zergs.

I'm hoping the system gets a bit more interesting in later levels.
