How much time is enough?
If it isn't working Tuesday, will that be long enough for you to admit it is a problem?
How about next Friday? What if you can't get in next weekend?
At what point do you admit this is a problem?

I'm not sure what you want to accomplish by asking this. Give it time or don't, it's totally you're choice.
Did I say it didn't matter. You either wait or you don't. There's is nothing else you can do.
Is it a problem? Yes.
But what exactly do you want people to do? I've been through 3 phases of Beta got a bit of play in with all these server issues. I can tell you that I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME.
You want me to say "To hell with this, i'm taking my money and going elsewhere?" Why? This is not an all too uncommon issue with MMO Launches. I stuck with 1.0 for around a month before I left.
If Square doesn't fix this issue before sub time starts there will be issues. However, right now, its launchday +1, and there are server issues, this has happened before and will happen again.
Exactly what do you want?
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
It's a problem.
Took me a lot of years to learn not to sweat the small stuff. Took me even longer to learn that it's all small stuff.
This game kicks major ass when I can log in and play, it worth having for me so it's worth waiting for.
When is enough, enough? That'd be up to each individual to decide. For me, I'd love to play but I know they'd also love for me to play, so I am sure they are working their butts off right now... it's all good.
Pretty sure what people want is to play the game they paid for.
Thats fine, but he's directing this AT people who are also waiting.
What does he want from THEM? (I.E. the point of my post, which asks this question directly).
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
I think you guys are reading more into this than I intended...
Let me clarify... I have seen a whole bunch of people talking about how people shouldn't be upset and just have no patience because they are upset that they lost the whole weekend(or both if you could beta4). They keep talking about how it isn't launch yet and wait till launch, or give it a few days, or give it a week... Different people have different times.
I am curious about this view. This is aimed at the people counseling that we should not be upset but instead should excercise patience. My question to them is, how long would it need to stay broken before you actually consider it a problem?
And you'll get a different answer from everyone. For me? I couldn't care less when they fix it I'll still play it. I've been waiting for years, I wouldn't care if they didn't fix it months from now. I'll just find something else to do until I can play.
To kind of answer your question, I don't think we''ll find out. The only issues here are server ones. They will be straightened out in less than a week. A month from now, everyone will have forgotten about it, just like every other launch.
So long as the game isn't broken or doesn't suck, this is in reality very minor
People keep saying that but honestly what would it accomplish? Everytime I hear it I think about that movie with Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes. He said something to Wesley's character along the lines of "That is what wrong with America. They spend too much time trying to figure out who F'd up. Instead of fixing what F'd up". Everytime someone says more communication that clip pops into my head. I mean really what are they supposed to say? I'd rather them focusing on fixing what's messed up then wasting time do mini updates that say and do nothing. Do they really need to keep repeating this broke or that broke? We are looking into a fix? I mean anyone with half a brain knows they are working on a fix. Do they really need to give updates every hour?
1am it's broken
2am it's still broken
3am yep still broke...
Just give them time to fix the problem. Either they will be able to or they won't.
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
You mean like give them time?
Like the time it takes to completely remake a game? That amount of time?
Mind you this is their second attempt at this here...and lots of people are giving them a second chance...that second chance..most games and game companies don't get it. Ask Funcom about second chances with their games...even after they patched up AOC and Anarchy to a fantastic state people stayed away.
This game and SE should be on their knees thanking their community that so many are coming back..
Whats going on right now is appalling.
Honestly, I'm not trying to convince anyone to give them time. People with short fuses or easily irritable temperaments outside the game also display those qualities inside the game. So it's only a matter of time before you run into players that flare up at the slightest setback. I don't want to convince them of anything.
I personally however look at the overall scope of what SE is attempting to do. And I've stated so several times in other threads now. They are taking all those that played the PC only version of FFXIV and stuck with them and transferring them over (levels included) to servers capable of handling not only PC players of the new version of the game, but PS3 players as well and placing them all on the same servers. Not only that but they are simultaneously releasing all of this in three regions (EU/NA/JP) in 4 different languages (EN/JP/GE/FR). So for me I'm willing to wait for them to stabilize things because I've never witness a company do what they are trying to pull off. They didn't even try this with FFXI.

The 1.0 release sucked. I was there for that.
I really liked what I saw in P3 Beta.
I really had issues with P4 Beta. I was cautiously optimistic they would get corrected before Early Release.
The game is still having all the P4 Beta issues. You have to admit, it's starting to smell a bit like 1.0 all over again.
The game will take all the time it takes them; however, for a company trying to put distance between 1.0 and ARR, they already blew it by blowing the entire Early Access with bugs that should have been fixed in P4.
The cat is already out of the bag, so to speak. A lot of people (including myself) will give them more time, but a lot of people aren't even going to touch it (again), just because of all the negative press (and most of it deserved).
Has EA went off without a hitch, the sky was the limit for this game. I'm afraid we're looking at another niche title at this point, no matter if every single bug were magically fixed as of me posting this. The bulk of damage has been done by having all these issues present for Early Access.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm willing to give them a whole month to sort things out.
I play MMOs that I like for the long haul. A month is not that much time in the grand scheme of investing years in a game, if I really like it. There is no other MMO out there that I have been playing, so for me it is this one or nothing.
Besides, if it takes them very long to sort things I am sure they will tack time onto our free 30 days (if they haven't already, I haven't been following the forums/twitter for the game).
people pay to have the game early asses come whit the pre-order ,we dint pay to play early basically its a gift
but we soon gonna play like we wish just let them do theyr job better now than later
