Why you so weak?/I don't trust you (Main story summary)

in Final Fantasy XIV

One more funny thing about FFXIV, the storylines, as I put in another thread are mostly related to people trafficking, but the actual text itself goes like this:

 

Hero:  Hey guys in this town/outpost, I need this item or some kind of help/info

Townies: Yo, you suck, you're too week/We don't trust you, why don't you go and get this/go kill this for me,then i'll trust you/believe you are strong

(repeat 3-8 times in same outpost/town area)

 

Townies:  Yo you are awesome, wow sorry for treating you like dirt

Hero:  Can I have the item/help now? Thanks (leave town) (move to next bubble icon, repeat above from levels 1-40 for main storyline so far)

 

Well, I just wanna know, why don't these fools respect my hero status?  After all the crap I've done, you idiot NPC's still make me kill rats and do all this crap to prove myself!!! Ungrateful idiots, I can't tolerate this crap much longer.  I killed all these monsters, saved all these NPC townies, and for what?  No respect.

IMPORTANT:  Please keep all replies to my posts about GAMING.  Please no negative or backhanded comments directed at me personally.  If you are going to post a reply that includes how you feel about me, please don't bother replying & just ignore my post instead.  I'm on this forum to talk about GAMING.  Thank you.

    I can't believe people actually want to read through the uninteresting 'you are the hero' story lines. Boring , repetitive. Yawn.

    I reach level 30, I am ambassador to a city , I have joined (after being begged by all of them) a grand company, I have been head hunted by a super secret society. In short I am already a freaking legend in my own under pants. So first main story quest I can get after L30 go and kill some rats by the windmill. No please, no thank you, no why, no wherewithal. Still at least afterwards I get to have a bolder breaking contest with the cheating mill owner.

    A shame really. It's FF,  you expect the story to be one of the main hooks. OP nailed it though he missed that each chapter so far is "bad guys are summoning primal" followed by "pick some nice flowers for us and we will tell you where".

    Now you're just trying too hard.

    Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

    Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

    I like the story. However I'm not the type of person who goes out of his way to find reasons to NOT like something.

     

    Just like I enjoy the Summer Blockbuster "popcorn" movies. Sure I could spend hours nit-picking the plot holes, but why would I do that when I just want to enjoy the movie.

    I was a bit upset, it clearly said on my CV primal killer and they confused me for the rat catcher.

    Yeah it's OK, but not a patch on errr lets say FF7. Yeah I know that was single player.
