    Lmfao!

Back in 2003 I was playing Ragnarok Online on a private server and during our peak times we had 10.000 - 20.000 players.

Now in 2013 the server cap is 5000 players. Epic development!

I think it's time to bury the first M in MMO.

Ragnarok Online released in August of 2002. I don't know how long it was in development, but depending on how long it had been in development that puts the tech used to build the game way before 2002.

How much has server tech progressed vs. the large steps games have made tech wise? And that's not even including PC specs in the home of a regular family/person.

How many games with newer tech, with everything cranked up, can boast having literally hundreds of players on screen with little to no loss of performance on our end?

Too many variables to simply discredit MMORPGs released today.

The first M in MMO is highly debatable. The adjective 'massive' is simply defined as "large in scale." OK, what is large in scale? Do we even agree on what the minimum of large in scale is? Does is start where consoles cap out at for multiplayer?

I am one of those guys! I have been playing non stop and then going to work. Coming back and playing non stop some more. Love the game afk mechanics. Or lack there of.

    Where do you hide out?

I was thinking about that today and it hit me that you could probably just stay in your room at the inn. I haven't been playing so I have no idea if this works.

I go outside of any main town that I see a quest for. Open up the quest dialogue and off to work I go. Come back home and resume . Its a mechanic that they made. I chose to use it.
