I'm thinking about just going to the store and buying a ps3 and the game and bringing it with me to college lol.do you guys think its better on ps3 or pc?
Please come check out my stream. All the love is appreciated!
Graphics aren't as good obviously. It's maxed at 720p on PS3. But it runs smooth and once you get used to the controller it's pretty fun that way. I have both versions now. And sometimes, especially of I'm just gathering or crafting ill definitely go PS3.
I haven't used my console in so long after getting my Alienware that its nice to be able to use it for something like this.
And you can use your same character on both once you add both codes to the same Square Enix account.
1. The game is highly optimized for PC, so framerates are smooth on most mid gaming hardware setups.
2. DX11 support is coming for PC. Likely for PS4 as well, but not PS3.
3. You can hook in a controller to your PC and get the console experience.
4. Most TV's have HDMI these days, and most video cards have HDMI out, if your reason for console is that you really want your couch / big screen - move your tower over, get a wireless keyboard and mouse(or just use a controller) and enjoy your big screen
Basically, the PC is the better version, and you can play it just like on a console, if you want.
To answer your question OP, yes if you plan on bouncing back and forth you still need a copy for each platform. I just did this today for PS3 as I already had it for PC. I got a toddler who likes me to play on the floor. So sometimes this is handy for me.

The problem with point 4 is you are likely comparing 720p and 1080p on TV and the difference on most flat screen TVs is not that great and noticeable for most folks. So, PS3 will give you very good performance if you are playing on the TV and remember you can use keyboard, mouse and controller for it as you want.

Not unless you are planning on linking your accounts for PSN (Playstation Network) and SE id together. That would allow you to play the same character on both systems. Handy if you want to leave your PS3 at school and still play when you get home on your PC. But if I had to go for one it would be PC because I also use TS with my Free Company (guild) and I sometimes tab out to check stuff while I'm using quick synthesis.
