The PS3 and PS4 will make FFXIV: ARR more successful

With it launching this time with the PS3 and soon PS4. I think that the game will be much more successful than most MMOs. Then again look at Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online.

I think this is probably the first real MMORPG for the playstation 3,  I never bought the playstation 3 because a mmorpg wasn't on it.   I think now that the ps4 is coming out,  most mmorpg fans probably did not buy a ps3 and will hold off on buying it, but will be buying a ps4 because of this game.  You can count me in on buying a ps4 because of this game and ESO both going to the PS4.

I think the title is acutally backwards, and its because of this game that will make PS4 more successful. probably not PS3 as much.

or we will continue to just use our PC,s since I already have the game and a account for PC.

I don't see people buying a PS4 just for one game if you buy a system that is a few hundred dollars just for one game then you got a lot more money to spare then I do.

    Maybe.

The incessant loading screens and overall simplicity of design required to make it playable on the PS3 kind of hurt it, IMO.  PS4 shouldn't be as limited.

I still don't think MMORPGs are suitable to consoles and think it's an overall stupid idea.

Good MMORPGs are easily successful on PC alone, and are most suited to PC, so, to me it just adds unnecessary complications to one of the most complicated types of games in existence, and that's really, ultimately, not all that wise.

Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.

Well I don't know about that considering just how many MMO's will be coming to PS4. There are going to be a lot of options in that department. Destiny, The Division, ESO, PS2, etc...

I own it for both.  1.0 CE PC owner.  Ponied up for a PS3 version so I could play there.  Graphics actually take a bit of a hit to play on the PS3.  But it is nice having it as a fallback platform.  I like it so far on the PS3 and have spent more time playing it there than on my PC.  (shrug)  Maybe I'm the odd one.  Course i don't TALK alot in MMO's so that helps too as typing is a bit cumbersome.

As much of a fan as i am of this game, believe me, This game isn't going to make the ps4 more successful. The PS4 will make IT more successful. This isn't a game with popularity like say, Call of Duty or Battlefield. Madden, FIFA, or GTA. Final fantasy is amazing and in my opinion, better than all the games i mentioned. Console players don't feel that way though. A smaller percent of playstation owners probably even know what a mmorpg is. But everyone knows what Call of Duty is. If any game would make a system more popular it would be a game like that

Plug in a USB keyboard to the PS3 then in game hit select on your controller and there you go typing made simple. I'm playing on PC but I'm still playing using a Controller keyboard hybrid with a little mouse thrown in now and then, makes healing a lot easier in fates etc.

On the PS3 you dont have to hit select. If you have a keyboard plugged up to the ps3. When you want to talk in chat you just simply press enter-type-then enter to send just like any mmo on the pc

Matter of fact. you can just use a mouse and keyboard on the ps3 if you want. If you have a set up like mine.

i have a 27 inch led 1080p tv that also is used for a computer moniter at my gaming/work desk, ps3, keyboard, mouse, controller, bluetooth, head set, the works right there and if i want to keyboard/mouse some games on the ps3 you can. I have counterstrike on ps3 and it allows it. Feels like being on a computer

I bought the first Xbox for Halo alone. I bought N64 for Mario 64. I bought PS1 for Twisted Metal. I bought PS2 for FFXI. I bought Dreamcast for Sonic Adventure.

I would have to strongly disagree that noone "even with money lacking" would buy a console for one game. It is usually always one game that makes me decide.

I personaly think most people who want to play this game will definatly be buying a ps4 no matter what, but question is how many console users would that be?
