What is a Legacy server?

 

And just to double check. I have to start as a Pugilist in order to become a BARD?

    Really folks? Every one has time to cry like your 5 and dropped your ice cream but no time to answer a simple question or two for a new player?

    Legacy servers have legacy characters from 1.0

    Yep, you have to level classes to a certain level before you unlock jobs.

    Legacy servers are the servers from FF14 1.0..  New players can create toons on Legacy servers but 1.0 players cannot move their old toons to the new servers..

     

    And a Bard is 30 Archer, 15 Pugilist.

    While you might as well start as the class you want in order to save a little time, it doesn't actually matter what you start as.   After you clear level 10 you can pick up all the classes and switch between them freely.

     

    Eventually you could be level 50 in all classes on one character and have access to all jobs in the game if you want to.
