Every aspect of their servers is broken.

I'm totally at loss for how nearly every aspect of their server from the login to the actual game server is screwed up.

So far today I've had it where my "Start" button just stays gray.

I've had it where I login only to have the error "Unable to update EU/NA server list"

I've had it where My game shuts down and I get the message "Login server unaviliable"

And of course I've gotten the 1017 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times.

On top of all this, their server queue system makes no sense.  Sometimes, even during primetime I get the 1017 15 times in a row only to log straight in on my 16th try.  Sometimes I get placed in a queue with 200 people and it takes less than 20 seconds for it to log me in, sometimes I get into a queue with 5 people and it takes 10 minutes to log me in.

Yes I've read the directors post.  I still can't fathom how nearly every aspect of their servers is completely screwed up.

I too have been frustrated by the cumberson and ineffective login screen....

But then again, after about 10-15 of frustration, I get in.

I think you meant to say that every aspect of their login system is broken, except for the lucky people to get in before the cap-out.

Clearly, once you get into the game - things work pretty well.  At least, that's what my level 40 scholar says.

I only reference my level because I have NOT stayed logged in and I also work 40-50 hours a week.  If I was spending hours a day just logging in, I clearly wouldn't be that far.

I had just remarked, at 9:45am on Saturday, Pacific Time, that I logged straight in with no queue or 1017. Probably the first time I've not been 1017'ed between 8am-10pm.

The servers are REALLY solid.  This might be the most stable and polished MMO I have every played at launch.  Once you get in ....

The lack of a queue, the failure to boot AFK players, and a general lack of capacity makes getting in the game really tough.  So I think complaints are COMPLETELY legitimate.  But once they lick that problem the game waiting behind the wall is a good one.

This is just bad, and there are no excuses. I'd understand if it was so bad during betas or even early start, but it's after release, and I still can't play half the time when I want to. And the best part is that it's P2P. Don't get me wrong, the game is pretty solid, but how can you have fun if you can't play.

I agree - What's most frustrating to me is this is the type of stuff you get from indie MMO's like Mortal Online at release.  I can't understand how a company that has deeper pockets, AND past experience has such an awful release.

I don't know about everyone else, but I have a job and a wife - my playtime is super limited.  Unfortunatly 90% of the time I can't even log in when I have some free time to play...very very frustrating.
