how are the servers?

in Final Fantasy XIV
I want to buy this game. But i don't want to buy this game if they wont let me into the servers..so how are the servers now? should i buy or no? ive been to gamestop and all they keep talking about is how they dont wanna sell me the game cuz the servers are in bad shape..errors here and there and so on

    you won't be able to make a character. don't buy it right now.

    It's hit or miss. I say wait till next week and see what they do, it should be close to worked out by then. It's a great game but has  a big launch issue with the Duty Finder being unstable under load.

    Very full but aside from that their fine but even if you manage to talk a Gamestop employee into selling you the game you won't be able to create a character because character creation was taken offline to prevent further congestion.

    However all of this should be fixed by the 4th "The" maintenance begins tomorrow around 6PM EST.

    Check back on Wednesday after they install the new servers and upgrade capacity.

     

    Like others said, you cant even buy the game right now anyway, and if the issue is fixed tomorrow night (Wednesday in japan) then you will be able to buy the game.

    I might reroll on one of them myself if I can get my amigos to do it too and our server (goblin) doesnt chill down a bit.

    Or just pay $5 or whatever it is to transfer the amount of time you've invested already is probably worth more than $5. Also there are plans to increase the cap to 5k so hopefully that will happen and make it so you don't even have to switch servers.

    Digital Downloads are still frozen on the SE website anyway... I'm going to wait until they fix the server issues before I spend my money. For me there's still to many unanswered questions.

    Once your in it's flawless, no lag, no drop, no bugs, nothing.  It's getting in that is currently almost impossible.
