Question about Main Story

in Final Fantasy XIV

So I see posts that state that they finished the main story already. Will future patches continue the story (did it in 1.0?).

 

I'm only lvl 21 so far, but I'm enjoying the ride thus far and hope it's not over too soon.

    As an mmo i think it must continue and expand the storyline with expansions or content patch. I cant see how the game would do weel adding repetitive content with each patch (raids and stuff) without expanding the main story of the game. It wouldnt work well. People who dont like end game grind content will come back to the game to continue the story. Its common for mmos that have a strong storyline to do this so im sure they wil too.

    If 10 years of FFXI is an indication we will see the deepest and best content ever released for any MMO come to FFXIV:ARR.
