    Thanks for the suggestions.

    I put in a help request after the server upgrades and haven't gotten any help.

     

    Did your girlfriend have an xfinity modem?  Does she run steam?

     

    I am running as administrator, I even tried a more compatible version of windows the windows 8.

    stupid question, but have you checked nothing is actually blocking the outgoing connection, rather it be, win firewall, or router firewall or whatever ?

    First place I would look would be router settings.

     

    Turn the router firewall off temporarily and see if that's the problem.

    I have tried to connect without firewall.

     

    I am trying to reset router now.

    it sucks cause its most likly on your end do a direct connection with out the router

    Windows 8 might be the problem and compatibility mode never works so don't bother.

     

    What happens when you click on the button with the cursor, using your mouse, instead of hitting it? Is the button animated? How about tabbing until the button is selecting and pressing (not hitting) enter on the keyboard?

     

    Does she have an antivirus/firewall installed? I have Comodo firewall and if I block a process from firing up it actually stays blocked until I unblock it, so try removing firewalls and antivirus stuff from the PC. Uninstall them completely.

     

    Is the game updating and telling her to wait for the update and works for you because you actually let it update?

     

    Did you eliminate the router possibility by plugging Internet directly in the PC without using a router?

     

    Give us more information if you want help for those kinds of things, because with what you gave it sounds like an I-18 problem (18 inches in front of the screen)

    Boycotting EA. Why? They suck, even moreso since 2008.

    Although I don't think I was successful messing around with my router has seemed to fix my issue.  Thank you so much for all your help!
