I have a pending authorization for the amount of the game plus shipping in my bank so hopefully physical copies will be shipped soon to people who ordered directly from SE.
Best Buy is showing it available in some stores and shipping on Amazon is now available. No instances of Digital Download that I can find active, but still trying.

Went by my local Best Buy today (to buy an IPOD Shuffle, not this game) but decided to check it out and there were no copies available nor any evidence (empty shelf slots etc) that there ever were any for sale.
Now, GTA5 and couple of other upcoming console titles..... banners and displays all over the place.

Keeping my fingers crossed for digital sales to resume. I really do not want to support Gamestop with my money.

You may be able to order a boxed copy from amazon, but pay attention to the fine print. "usually ships within 2 to 3 weeks." That means even if you choose 1 or 2 day shipping the game will still take 2 to 3 weeks to ship. The 1 or 2 day delivery is how long it takes to get to you after that 2 to 3 weeks passes and it actually ships.

I got the same info about Gamestop as well. One copy in each store means that Jeff the clerk can save it for a friend.

Perhaps, but I was lucky enough to just call at 11:00 and the lady behind the counter just put it aside for me. Walked in an hour later and walked out with my copy. Pretty much just depends on if the clerk is A. Lazy and doesn't want to unpack the shipment, B. Is saving if for a friend, or C. is keeping it for himself.
HOpefully they all fulfilled all of the above options last week with the shipment and will have copies available for others this weekend.
Today, I made up my mind and choosen to buy FF14. I checked the walmart website to see if any of the stores in my area had them in stock. The website showed the stores had limited stock but when I called to check. The sales people said they don't have any or even see a price tag for it.
So I checked the gamestop website for a PC DVD copy but all stores within 60 miles where I live is sold out. One of the gamestop sale people told me square enix are phasing out PC DVD copys. They want to go the digital download way but I dont know if that is true or not.
I was lucky enough to find a DVD copy of FF14 at bestbuy which only had 2 left in stock. I bought one over the phone and picked it up about 1 hour later.
Well the way SE is handling sales, or the lack of, the folks that are quitting will be replaced by those that still want to purchase the game. Like someone else said, hopefully this new patch tonight will lead into digital sales tomorrow.

Yeah if they time this right, the people leaving at the end of the free month will just get replaced. Lets not forget that there will definitely be an influx of PS4 players...I know a lot that are just waiting the game out until ps4 is available
Got my confirmation email from SE today with a UPS tracking number for 2 day shipping!! Hopefully by Saturday it will be here coming all the way from Minnesota to New England. Still having fun with the benchmark/character creator though..
