So, I'm currently playing Arcanist planning to go Scholar. I started as a Conjurer as I knew I'd need it anyways. And now I'm working on Arcanist. I was passing through Ul'dah on a quest and I realized "Oh ya, I can pick up Thaumaturge to lvl 6 real quick to get access to Thunder". So I did!
It was a fun little experience for gameplay and the Roleplayer in me. I could picture my studious adventurer eager to learn new arcane secrets in his travels.
Just wanted to share that fun experience I had. A lot of people have said the combat is boring, which I agree in the beginning it is slow. But it does pick up once you develop your character a bit and there's a lot of depth.
I never play healers and I actually enjoyed playing as a healer(CNJ) in dungeons more than I did as DPS(ACN). I really can't wait till I'm a Scholar!

Nice. I like reading stuff like this. Thanks for sharing!
Your experiance is simulair to mine. IM currently lvl 48 dragoon as main job and personally I like the class/job story, it really did give the feeling I was a novice who picked up the lance in the morming and desided to join the lancer guild to learn the trait.
Imo the class/job quests and story do help with immersion, making you earn your class as you level along. I only leveled the other classes to 20ish but their story lines gave me the same impression.
