Which video card do you suggest to run the game?

I was planning to play the game on my ps3. However, I'll need a new TV to run it on 720p, which I don't have the money to afford. Then, I though that I could play it on my computer. However, my pc is pretty bad and I don't know if I'll be able to run it properly. I have:

- Dual Core Intel Celeron E3400 2,6GHz;

- 6 GB Ram DDR3 (however, I'm on a 32 bit system, so It is using only 3.2 GB);

- 500 GB HDD;

- Intel(R) G41 Express Chipset (256 MB);

- DMI G41T-M7 LGT motherboard (it seems to have only pci-1.0;

Somebody said the video cards I would look upon too, would be, on this order:

GTX 460 768mb > HD5770 > GTS 450 > HD5750 > GTS 250 > HD4850 > HD4770 > 9800GT > HD5670 > 9600GT > GT 240 > HD4670

A video card would be much more cheap than a new TV, and I want to play this game so hard. Also, I think I'll need a new power supply. So, what do you say?

    You can sort them by price then find the one with the most power.

    The have a value column now too. Shows you the most for your money.

    That's basically correct.  Anything equivalent to a GT/GTS 200 series card or newer can run the game without issue.  You'll have to turn some settings down like AA, Depth of Field, Shadows, etc. if you go with a 200 series card but the game will still look nice.  Anyway, you can get a GTX 600 series card for only $100-150 or go with a GTX 700 series for $250 to $400.  If you're looking for a really cheap way to run the game then I'd suggest a GTX 600 series for only $100 to $150.

    What's your budget ?

    Tbh you'd be better off buying a new machine rather than upgrading the video card only.  An I5-3470, 8 GB DDR-3, a suitable motherboard and a 577x video card will be a about 400-500 $ or €.

    I have about $150, but I'm starting to change my mind about it. Maybe I should wait somemore and build a better pc.

    I played the beta phase 4. My TV is 480i and it was almost impossible to read dialog bubbles. Quest, items and abilities descriptions was unreadable. I was playing using a component cable.

    What is your processor?

    SE recommends gtx 660

    I think that is a fine suggestion.

    Also they are putting DX 11 in the game soon, so a new card would benefit

    SE recommended a Radeon HD 7950 i think, which I think is massive overkill.  I'm running on a 7870 and it runs smooth and silky at max settings.

    Well, if I were buying a new video card today, the cheapest that I would consider would be an nVidia 650Ti (~$125 US) or an AMD 7770 (~$90).

    The nVidia there costs a bit more, but is generally a bit faster in DX9 stuff, however, the 7770 overtakes it in most DX11 stuff.

    FFXIV is DX9 now, but plans to release a DX11 client this Winter/Spring.

    Either of these will look a lot better than the PS3. You won't run it on MAX MAX, but you should get at least medium settings and the game will look good. Both of these cards are low enough in power that they, by virtue of being low loads, won't blow up your power supply. That isn't to say that your power supply may not crap out anyway by virtue of being a crappy power supply.

    Anything lower performance than these two cards I would consider a waste of money.

    Just for comparisons. I play on high settings with 7850 and consistently have 30 - 40+ fps in all areas of the game. My other specs are AMD 960t processor, 8gb 1600mHz ram and a samsung 830 ssd.

    Mine is the non OC version though.

     I wouldn't buy either the 650 or 7770.  Both are very low powered cards.  You would be far better off saving the extra $100 and getting a card that's worth a damn,

    With an i5-3570k and a gtx 560 ti I run it on max with a constant 60 FPS.

     Honestly, there's not a card I'd recommend you because your system is bottle necked with that CPU/Mobo. You could save up $500-800 and build a new system from scratch that'd run FFXIV max, or you could purchase it on ps3. Building your own PC is an EXTREMELY rewarding experience if you haven't done so before; it's certainly not hard to learn, either. However, if that's not worth the wait or cost for one game - I'm not judging one way or the other - then I'd say hold out for a sale on a 720p LCD tv. It's not uncommon for the 34"+ TVs to go on clearance for $150-$200.

     Hope I helped.

    EDIT: Newegg is having a shellshocker deal at 10 AM PDT for this: http://www.newegg.com/Special/ShellShocker.aspx?cm_sp=ShellShocker-_-89-650-002-_-09172013_2

    It retails at $140. It's pretty small, but it is a 1080p LED tv. I have no idea about the brand or the quality of this product, just thought I'd share.
