My basic approach is if a game has a scantilly clad woman or tries to use sex to get me to play, I avoid the game....TO me that is a sure fire sign the game is garbage and they are using sex to sell it.
Originally posted by Rockniss I'm seeing alot of buzz about adult focused games or more so the lack there of. So what is it "adults" are looking for in thier video games? Try to explain this first without reading any posts, I think we should get a good mix of responses or maybe not either way should be interesting to see what the "adult" expectations are.
Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
Adult game should be original, and roleplay-heavy.
New lore - no elves vs orcs, come up with your own races. Please make loot not the end in itself, but have a story which forces us to raid.
High stakes. How high? Permanent death should be in the game, not as a regular penalty but some kind of end of world circumstance. This would add to the gravity behind the roleplaying in the game.
I am always baffled how violent stuff can be marketed to kids and but show one tit and all hell breaks loose.
I don't think mature content has anything to do with how much skin you show but rather what the story is about. Mature content refers to what the story in the game and how it is depicted in a game.
Even if you have cartoon characters certain topics are meant for adults.

Just so you know this is an old 2013 thread necro'ed by a couple spam bots!
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
