Don't really know what the magic is BUT

It's keeping me here. Today marks the one month mark where an MMO starts to get a tad boring and most players start looking into other games, or playing their consoles again, or talking to their girlfriends for the first time in a month.. lol.

But, I'm still anxiously awaiting getting off work to play. Granted - this time around I've only put around 150 hours in this first month compared to my typical 720 (lol, exaggeration ..kinda). But I hit 50 recently, am on the hard mode primal fights for relic, am only 25ish on my fishing/cooking, and haven't explored every crook and cranny.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I feel like I have so much more to do still...

I've got 4 buddies in their 40's waiting to max and do all the end game dungeons. (yeah i know trolls - they get tiring and turn into grinding seals, we still can't wait).

I've got fishing to 24 and cooking to 23 - and i enjoy every second of fishing. Finding new fishing holes. Catching HQ fish and seeing the xp bar fly up. Getting new gear for fishing. Awaiting my blue fishing rod at 50.

Same goes for cooking - it's so long and tedious that i feel like when i'm a level 50 cooker i'm going to have pride in it.

I've got to beat Ifrit/Titan/Garuda on Hard mode for my relic.

Not to mention I'm going to +1 it so i've got to grind more seals than usual from Amapdor Keep.

I've got a guild that's on the 3rd boss of coil right now - so when i get geared i can't wait to do this with my small knit hardcore guild.

I've got PvP to look forward to in 2.1 (Which with the global cooldown and how specific each job is..i'm starting to think is going to be freaking awesome). Not to mention i was an arena player in WoW, and played the crap out of Age of Wushu - i'm anxiously awaiting PvP.

I've got housing to look forward to. I love player housing. I alread feel attached to my character. To give him a house on a street in an instance with other players is going to bump my immersion ten fold. I can't wait. I may even go lumber worker in order to make stuff for my own house. :D

I've got more raids and primals to look forward to in 2.1 and i've not even touched any of it currently.

I've got the whole world to explore - with reason - you get xp for completing maps.

Whcih brings me to my next point - i have freaking so many other jobs to level.

I want a dragoon. badly, i can't wait - which means i can gain exp for completing maps on him.

I also can find rare fishing holes by exploring the nooks and crannies of maps.

I mean - i've got 150 hours in, and the first month has passed since early acess.

And i've still got all this?

I was super doubtful - at many points while playing. Because fates really irked me.

But i'm so damn happy now even while writing this looking at all i have to look forward to - and more surprises i'm sure they have  up their sleeve.

Fanboi or not - i just laid down facts. Content.

If you are on the fence - play it. It's going to be worth the 30 bucks even for the first month if you don't enjoy it.

and no this isn't my first MMO.

started in Everquest. DaOC. SWG. EQ2. WoW. SWTOR. Age of Wushu. FFXI. Everything in between.

This game has a lot of potential.

Granted I can't WAIT for a sandbox to come out that I can delve into. Like Wushu. But more polished. And fantasy.

But for a themepark - this is gold.

looks like you got the perfect setup there :P. if you agree with op's feelings and playstyle you will definitely love the game. i have a lvl 45 paladin/ lvl 50 bsm, once i hit 50 on my paladin im going to gear up a little then find a guild that does endgame dungeon grinding and also bahamuts. after that i am going maybe level up some other crafting profs to support BSM better and possibly try out a DPS role (love the archers in this game, so much dmg potential).  also going to be saving up money to buy a house later.

i too have been playing every day since early access. But crafting at lvl 50 has occupied a huge amount of time for me, i find that some nights i am just fulfilling orders for customers or stocking up my retainers. you know crafting is great when you spend the entire night doing it and dont even realize it. i have to force myself to take a break from it for a while or else i will never be able to lvl 50 my paladin lol.

Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)
